That’s not how you win elections.

Hitler won with 33% of the vote on inflation scares.

Right now, we have inflation cause by needless supply chain issues, a cartel of Autocrats in Saudi Arabaia and Russia spiking fuel prices and Russian causing a european war,.

People in the US are just dumb, ignorant idiots if they can't see this.

This is all so flipping tedious. Just an immense waste of time. Trump is an idiot, and a bigot, and 100 other things. I don’t give a sh$t anymore. He’s gone. He’s irrelevant and an embarrassment to all his sycophants now trying to distance themselves.

At the same time, this was not an “insurrection”. It was a protest by a bunch of idiot rednecks, really people who would deserve pity and empathy if they weren’t so obnoxious.

But you can’t have an insurrection with no guns, no bombs, no plan to overthrow the government, and no intent to seize power and rule. That didn’t exist. It was a bunch of dumbass theatre and I’m tired of otherwise reasonable and smart people pretending that the American Government was on the brink of collapsing. Such a bunch of hysterics. Get over yourselves.

There were guns and bombs. This thread is for people watching. You seem a little desperate.

If anyone is interested, this NYT documentary combined many sources along a time line and shows the terrorists attacked the Capitol from many sides, not just the two I had been thinking. Guns spotted among the crowd. Many shots of how large the insurrection was. It's 40 minutes long but stunning. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/30/us/jan-6-capitol-attack-takeaways.html

+1. The level of ignorance among the MAGA fanboys never ceases to amaze. What do they think would have happened if any of those jackasses actually came across Speaker Pelosi or any other sensible congressperson who hadn't drunk the Trump kool-aid? Do they think those morons would just wag their finger and scold? We should all shudder to think at what would have happened.

We are plagued by dumb, ignorant idiots. Haven’t you been paying attention?

What Liz Cheney said before she played the video of the interview is:

When a President fails to take the steps necessary to preserve our union, or worse, causes a constitutional crisis, we are at a moment of maximum danger for our Republic. Some in the White House took responsible steps to try to prevent January 6th. Others egged the President on. Others, who could have acted, refused to do so. In this case, the White House Counsel was so concerned about potentially lawless activity, that he threatened to resign, multiple times. That is exceedingly rare and exceedingly serious. It requires immediate attention, especially when the entire team threatens to resign. However, in the Trump White House, it was not exceedingly rare and it was not treated seriously. This is a clip of Jared Kushner, addressing multiple threats by White House Counsel Pat Cipollone and his team of White House lawyers to resign in the weeks before January 6th.

She was making a case where serious illegal activities being a common place with Trump and Co and cautions were dismissed with the above bolded context by Cheney.

Democrats won the election and the losers tried a fascist coup. The only reason it didn’t work is because federal law enforcement and military did not join in as the fascists expected. They have to be held accountable and punished. Law and order is not just for black people.

These hearings are in the House. The House has already passed bills to address everything. The bills can’t get a vote in the Senate because half of the Senate are Republican obstructionists.

Kushner was in a position to do something, to talk Trump around, to try to put a stop to everything. But he didn't. Because he's a lightweight and unpatriotic.

Did we ever expect anything from him but self-interest and lack of integrity? Both of them, him and Ivanka.

Kushner thought people dying of covid was FINE because they thought it would only kill Democrats.

THAT is the level of STUPID and AWFUL we're dealing with.

That’s awful, but I have seen people here express the same sentiment about conservatives dying from COVID.

No, you have not. What you've heard is people say that when those who willingly forego vaccinations and other mitigation measures succumb to the predictable results, it is sad but of their own doing. There is nothing we could do to stop them from running toward the void. And those happen to be mostly Trumpy people. Which is WHOLLY different from showing a malignant disregard for the lives of those who are trying to stay alive, but whose lives are deemed unworthy because they didn't vote for that brain-dead pustule.

Shut up, ignoramus.

Yes, please shut up. People died, the Capitol was taken over. So, we're supposed to move on and ignore it?

DP. I have repeatedly read people expressing unqualified glee at the prospect of covid killing GOP voters.

There's a difference between people dying of COVID as a result of their own stupidity (Republican "freedom" idiots) and people dying of COVID because others around them were reckless (e.g., elderly and immunocompromised people).

When people choose not to protect themselves with a free action, in feality to one of the greatest conmen in history, what do you expect?

I tried watching, but it was super boring. Rehash of the same stuff. "Trump said innaccurate and dangerous stuff!" Yeah, I know, but why are we going back over this? He's gone. He's not even in public life anymore. He is banned from everything. Even pinterest.
Well, 70 percent of republicans think election was stolen based on his lie so if you don’t think he still bares down on the party and is relevant, you’d be mistaken
