Elon Musk buys $3 billion stake (9.2%) in Twitter and is now the platform's largest shareholder

Great, so you should have no issue with Elon buying it and shaping it according to his vision.

Comical to see conservatives jumping up and down as if this is the great salvation... they love Parler, Rumble and Gettr and call them "free speech" platforms yet they also routinely ban users especially liberal users, and attack and even attempt to sue users. What a joke.

Maybe Elon is sincere but the issue is that there are far too many who would abuse the platform and in fact far too many who already abuse the platform. It would only get worse.

It doesn’t matter if I have an issue, but it appears that Vanguard does.

He’s obviously doing this to inflate the stock value before he sells. Similar stunts are why he is in trouble with the SEC.

Oooh yes that Elon sure loves free speech!

This is the thing his idiot fan bois don’t get: he’s a trash person. He has free speech; he wants to control others’ speech so that they only recite the right wing crazy.

I am paying attention to those who are freaking out that he is interested in taking ownership of Tesla.
These are the people to watch - those that fear free speech. Especially if they are part of the corporate media.
Pay close attention.

Only government an infringe on your right to free speech. The Bill of Rights protects us from the government only.

Well, its not like Biden has been extending an olive branch. The Build Back Better bill which had billions in electric vehicle credits? Guess who Biden invited to the White House to sell the new electric way forward for America?

Ford.

Guess who has the number one EV market in America?

Tesla.

Guess who has the largest gas-guzzling fleet in America?

Ford.

Guess who has the most EV cars sold and the largest charger network in America?

Tesla.

Guess who sold less than 10,000 EVs in the calendar year?

Ford.

Guess who sold more than 100,000 EVs in the calendar year?

Tesla.

Guess who holds 72% of EV market share in America by itself?

Tesla.

You can see why Elon Musk is pissed. The White House really insulted him by not inviting over to multiple electric vehicle roundtables in August 2021 and I honestly couldn't give you a legitimate reason for why they did this...

Tesla Not Invited For United States Electric Vehicle Summit, 'seems Odd' Elon Musk Says

Biden is pushing union made electric vehicles. Musk is vehemently against unions.

And Musk is not ENTITLED to be at the WH. WTF? Insulted? This isn't the Robber Baron ages. He shouldn't expect to have special access or be put on some sort of guilded pedestal. That is what is wrong with this country right now. (Well, one of the things). And that people thing he has a right to be pissed . . . that some bazillionaire has the right to be pissed? GTFOH.

If you're going to throw around words like "Free Speech", please educate yourself about it first. Because this post makes clear you have no idea WTF you're talking about.

Bingo. This can't be highlighted enough.

How is online censorship different from book banning? They are two sides of the same coin. Both suppress speech and and are used to manipulate people and ideas. Anyone who supports one and not the other is a hypocrite. Tolerance for things like gay (just one example) marriage grew with free speech.

Again, it’s the difference between government and business.

Freedom of speech is a principle that supports the freedom of an individual or a community to articulate their opinions and ideas without fear of retaliation, censorship, or legal sanction

You disagree?

TWITTER IS A PRIVATE COMPANY AND CAN DECIDE WHO AND WHAT APPEARS ON ITS PLATFORM.
THAT IS NOT AN INFRINGEMENT ON FREE SPEECH.

The first amendment only protects you from government suppression of speech.

Is that clear?
