The idea that his career will be the same as when he was in his prime is ridiculous.

Even if he wins she can’t pay the judgment. And even if he proves she lies….so much has come out about his unprofessionalism and addiction issues that his career is still effed.

This. She proved his addictions, so he's uninsurable so he can't work.

But she's also shown what she's really like. Pretty ugly, coarse, and vulgar.

Those are not uninsurable on movie sets. Drug use is.

Completely disagree … victim blaming and shifting at its worse.

1. She never mentioned his name in her op Ed against domestic violence. So he is being petty prosecuting her unnecessarily.
2. He consumed so many drugs and alcohol that he cannot remember the violence.
3. He is over 20 years older than her and had more life experience from to seek help or get out.
4. Depp romanticized hedonistic drugs, drink and rock n roll lifestyle for decades.
5. He could have requested to write an open if his own not mentioning her name but getting his views across. Instead he chose to ruin his careeer and try and destroy her in court showing his true petty bullying colors.
6. He thought he was entitled to treat her like that as he was an older male with more prominent career. Ummm. No.

I had no idea there was such a big age difference. I wonder why she get involved with him in the first place?
I hope this draws to a close soon, I don't see Johnny winning this case. He needs to learn from this, clean up his life and move on.

Yeah Amanda was only 23 while he was in late 40s when they met. She was the same age as his daughter is now. Lily-Rose may be more mature than her father by now.

Victim blaming to state the truth? No, it's not.

NP. It matters very little whose team I am on, it is of no consequence at all, but TEAM JOHNNY!! All of Amber's actions smack of BPD/NPD sociopathy, and I am so sorry that they ever encountered each other. Because right, he is not perfect either, but it took HER to get him to this point. He was doing rather well and getting good reviews from his partners previous. Meanwhile her history is torrid. That's the way it is, and I hate the "both sides" shit. He would have been all right without her. She would have found someone else to mess with. Instead, we have this.

There is violence against women yes. And then there is another category of personality disordered toxic people, can be any gender, ruining others, who can be any gender. Bonus points if the ruined person can be compromised and not believed because of drug use, etc. All the better for her.

Amber Heard enrages me. I think she wrote a WaPo op-ed because Angelina Jolie did it before her. (Angelina's op-ed was about international humanitarianism, not her own issues).

Much of what you said is what their therapist testified too. Heard would hit him to start fights because she thrived on that.

But I don’t believe she brought out his abuse in a vacuum. I think age and his addictions led to his actions. He was likely to behave this way with anyone he was with while he was under the influence.

Disingenuous for her to write an op-ed about being a domestic violence survivor. Wow, she thinks she can get away with anything. Really showed Johnny Depp, plus got some of his millions.

We all think we are special and that this could not happen to us. Truth is, you have some weaknesses? Only takes to meet a monster luke Amber Heard to have your life destroyed.

These two are a total mess. Who acts like this?! They’re gross and deserve each other. Would hate them both in real life.

She’s claiming to have been abused before him as well. That’s her defense that the piece wasn’t about him.

DP. I don’t think this is the first time he’s gotten to that point of abusiveness. Kate Moss was quiet as the grave when his other partners were supporting him. Twice is a pattern.

Aside from that while she is horrible. I would guess that Vanessa Paradis was holding him up for years because that seems to be the stablest time in his life. He made the decision to leave that relationship so that he could pursue a woman who was his daughters age without thinking that perhaps a psychologically well adjusted beautiful young woman would not be interested in a middle aged man with kids.

She went after him like a heat-seeking missile with nude pics etc. He was a complete and utter moron in falling for it.

Please, indulge my teenage dreams.

Good question. I don’t believe he owns any homes out here. I’m just waiting for the paparazzi to follow him around and broadcast where he’s staying.
The Ritz in Tysons is the only decent hotel in NOVA. Unless he went with Landsdowne or Salamander but those would be a bit odd. I would bet he’s staying in DC.

I'm guessing some place like The Willard hotel.

It looks like the Ritz Tyson’s based on the photos of him waving on his way to court.

Oh there were tons of high end “escorts” when I stayed there. He will probably enjoy it there.

Oh puhleeze - to or have your life destroyed as a young woman by a leacherous, entitled, booze and drug-addled old fart like Johnny - There were reports back in the Kate Moss days of her coming into work with all kinds of bruises and she would be sporting new expensive jewelry after his drug and alcohol fueled rages. Without drink or drugs, he was reportedly very charming.

He has been abusing drugs and alcohol for decades when he started up with a young woman literally half his age.

It is misogynistic to lay all the blame on Amanda. They were clearly codependent but that does not justify an older man old enough to be his wife’s father pummeling her in drug and booze fueled rages.

I would be heart broken if our teen daughter ever took up with a wealthy, much older man who did not respect her.

Amanda was not perfect but she was young and he has a chronic substance abuse problem.

Depp could have handled this out of defamation court and saved his reputation and career in the process - by writing another op Ed about victims of false allegations of domestic violence without any direct references to Amanda.

Instead He chose to act like a bully and sully them both in the process.

Hope he loses this case as he did in Britain. But hope they both rebuild their lives with dignity.
