Is Putin really crazy, like #45 crazy, or is it mental deterioration?

No way would I want these 2 to have access to nuclear weapons. Rumor is that he has Parkinson's. That can also cause paranoia, etc. He needs to be taken out ASAP.

He’s trying to turn nuclear power plants into dirty bombs. That’s nuts.

Link?

Why are you even on a political message board if you clearly don't follow any news? First his troops attack Chernobyl https://www.timesofisrael.com/ukraine-troops-battle-invading-russian-army-in-kyiv-outskirts/,

then they attack the largest nuclear plant in Europe. https://www.reuters.com/markets/europe/top-wrap-1-europes-largest-nuclear-power-plant-fire-after-russian-attack-mayor-2022-03-04/

These links don’t support what you said - that Putin is trying to get nuclear plants to make dirty bombs. That’s ridiculous. Russia has tons of nuclear weapons and material to make dirty bombs, it doesn’t need to get it from a Ukrainian power plant.

He wants the power plants for several other reasons - he has planted a narrative before the invasion that the Ukrainians have been trying to make nuclear weapons and Russia had to defend itself. Then more recently they tried the story that Ukraine was making the dirty bomb. Probably he wanted to seize the power plants and probably plant some kind of fake story to that effect. The IEAE has prebutted that story by saying there is no evidence that Ukraine was building a bomb. https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/russia-without-evidence-says-ukraine-making-nuclear-dirty-bomb-2022-03-06/

Another, more classic military reason Russia wants Zaporizhia nuclear plant is that it supplies half of Ukraine’s power. Putin can make the seige and bombardment of cities and all comms that much harder if he disconnects the grid from the plant.

Also, Crimea has had water and power supply problems since it was occupied by Russia, so Russia probably though to keep control of a power plant if it wanted to keep the South of Ukraine between Donbas and Moldova.

PP, if you’re going to be rude and snarky to another PP and chide her for not knowing what is going on - you should at least know what’s going on.

Former Russian foreign minister thinks Putin's decision to invade was rational, but that it was based on bad information/assumptions. (He also thinks Putin wouldn't go nuclear)

Absolutely. I was one of the PPs who first comments on his swollen face. It's the first thing I noticed as I really haven't paid him much attention since his bare chested horse riding days. People said Botox/fillers but it has much more of a medical treatment look to it. It's uniformly swollen as I've seen in friends undergoing serious treatments.

I'm not in the medical field. What sorts of illnesses could require such treatment? I agree about his face not the result of the Madonna syndrome, but there is an underlying fullness that wasn't there before and shouldn't be there in a 69 yo man.

I am seriously if Putin would use a small tactical nuke. He feels backed into a corner and might feel it is his only option to end the war quickly. Afghanistan lasted 9 years and they lost 29,500 soldiers. Russia can’t afford that now.

Nuking what? What would that accomplish?

I must have missed #45 invading Canada and bombing Ontario to rubble. Putins actions are far beyond mean tweets, insisting on highlighting the geographic origin of the pandemic and ordering fast food for White House guests.

Putin is the new Hitler in Europe. Remember how that ended for Germany. How ironic that the USSR Great Patriotic War, WW2, is renacted on other turf with Putin as Hitler. Remember Venezuela before it's own bad governments and supporters brought down an entire country?

USSR did not survive the double disasters of Chernobyl and 10 years in Afghanistan. USA is fine after 20 most of which were a waste. Democratic Socialists of America not supporting NATO after Russian aggression brings many of their other ideas into sketch territory.

I will say that if I was in Ukraine I'd rather have a fossil fuel vehicle with extra full gas cans than be searching for an EV charging station.

What does "#45 crazy" mean?

His left arm doesn't swing when he walks which is either Parkinson's (which comes with its own form of dementia, anger issues and short-term memory loss plus a bunch of other symptoms - muscle stiffness, limps etc - which he appears to have - I'm speaking from experience here as my DH has PD) or a stroke of some kind. Plus the puffy face - who knows what other health issues the guy has. This is one of several reasons I wouldn't put it past him to use nukes.

He is already actively engaging in genocide of Ukrainian citizens, he wants to eliminate them and their dissent.
I think he would definitely use a tactical nuke in Ukraine. I believe he out of his mind and believes in his mind "if I can't have Ukraine, no one can".
