I have never signed anything when voting. |
Where the heck are you voting? I want to know because they are not following the law. I've voted in CA, NY, and DC. Every time I've signed into my polling station. If you vote by mail, you have to sign the envelope so they can compare your signature with that on your voter registration. Signature matching is the backbone of the US voting system. There's no need for an ID card. |
| I've always signed when I vote, no matter what state I have lived in. |
DP. I vote in Virginia and do not recall ever signing anything to vote because I always had id to show (although not always photo id because it wasn’t always required). If I did not have id with me and needed to submit a provisional ballot, I believe I would have been required to sign it. |
They can’t be that motivated. Obama won a second term (I am open to the idea that they didn’t think he would win the first time so didn’t take steps) And didn’t Biden win GA against expectations? |
Making identification free would solve the issue of those who can’t afford the fee. As to transit difficulties, elections aren’t a surprise and id is needed for other things in life. I needed one to register my children for school. If you want an id you will get one (assuming you are a citizen or legally in the country) even if you have to do a little planning. |
| Closing polling places and restricting voting hours is separate and that’s an area where I would be suspicious. |
Right, because it's impossible to forge a signature. I vote in VA and have never, ever had to sign anything unless I'm voting absentee. I have, however, always had to show my ID.

Ding ding ding. You'd think that would be the obvious thing to do, wouldn't you? The excuses are just... mind-numbing. DP |
Maybe because it costs $555 and is a PITA? |
DP. It's beyond odd that you keep insisting voters have to sign their name. In VA, they do not - if they present an acceptable ID. Again: NO ONE HAS TO SIGN THEIR NAME, unless they have to sign the ID confirmation statement in lieu of showing ID. Which is ridiculous. |
What a whiner you are. Move, you poor snowflake. DP |
EXACTLY. This was noted in the media, but of course, Dems ignored it. Connecticut, NY, and RI are among the other blue states with MORE restrictive voter laws. And Democrats wonder why people call them hypocrites. So curious.

If you send in a ballot, then yes - you have to sign it. If you show up at the polling place, no signature is required UNLESS you don't have ID. Please stop repeating misinformation. |
DP. He didn't "try" anything. He asked if he could vote and was told no. He didn't sign anything at all and he showed his own license. Why are you such a liar? |
