Joining a new league is not a promotion/relegation model. In some cases, a club is given entry to a league and then they can use that credential to create brand new teams. The level of the current teams doesn’t really matter because the understanding is they will form new teams with many new players. This is what happened with VRSC’s and other club’s added to GA.

What happened with VRSC getting into GA was that the FCV staff decided to leave TSJ for a more-certain future in terms of field space/facilities (and, in at least one case, more money). With MJ having previously left FCV for VRSC, the line of communication to CC was already there. CC's connections and proven track record (with FCV) in the GA sealed that deal. But I agree with you that VRSC's existing teams had nothing to do with them getting accepted into the GA.

The reality is that VRSC has a vision, an execution plan to realize that vision, the financial backing to underwrite it, and a track record of successfully executing key initial steps in the plan (including acquiring what without question is the best youth soccer complex in the DMV, recruiting some of the most experienced coaches on the girls side in the DMV, and convincing GA to let them join the leage when their girls teams were not even close to GA level). I don’t know why people are so negative about a club that is genuinely attempting to bring a true academy experience to the DMV, unless they’re from clubs who stand to lose.

What makes it a true academy experience? Serious question. Not trolling. What makes it different than any other program in the area?

I didn’t mean to suggest they are even remotely at that point yet, just that this is what they are trying to achieve. True pathway from ulittle to pro, including their own professional teams for men and women. Ask them. They have a presentation that describes exactly what their goals are and the plan to achieve them. Not sure, maybe it’s on their website.

They have a presentation! They should start paying DCUM for all of the advertising they do on this site. Reeks of desperation

Yes, a presentation is how one conveys one’s plans to others. As I noted above, they also have a track record of actual accomplishments over the last few years that at least partly credentials those ambitious plans.

This right here. You wouldn’t have those Europeans upping up their model here if things weren’t as bright and shiny as some are trying to make it sound. Some parents are in for a rude awakening when yet again they have to announce no MLS next for boys and the GA teams are just incapable of competing against the big clubs

ECNL around DMV is a joke. How many teams are there within an hour drive? Yes, somehow 100's of nationally rankable players live that close to each other for each she group on both boys and girls side. 🤣 How they do outside our DC bubble speaks volumes. Clubs need to worry less about a newer club like VRSC and more about stealing talent from neighboring ECNL clubs and vice versa.

I've heard that STJ has applied for MLS Next. Has Revolution FC also submitted an application? The club that secures an MLS Next spot in the Loudoun area will likely have a significant impact on youth soccer development in the region.

It would be interesting to see if NVA considers applying for both MLS Next and the GA program.

VRSC will dissolve like a sugar rock once STJ or NVA picks up that MLS next league spot. Ironically around the same time the local Medici’s daughter leaves the club soccer scene and he stops pumping dollars into Loudoun 2.0

NVA isn’t getting mls next. They can’t afford to leave ECNL on the girls side.

NVA has historically demonstrated a willingness to make bold decisions and adapt to evolving trends within the youth soccer landscape.

Lmao ur in for a rude awakening. ECNL is overrated and losing ground to the current MLS next expansion. NVA is definitely getting MLS next over STJ over solar panel club

Translation: NVA leadership is willing to screw over the girls program and go after MLS if it lines their pockets.

Plot twist: NVA picks up MLS next for boys and NWSL next for girls when it becomes a reality 12 months from now. The question is begged: how fast will run to your cave?

It will be a while before any NWSL youth league comes along. Several years. NVA going to MLSNext would definitely shake things up!
