DMV Power Rankings after 4/10 results
1. Bullis 2. Georgetown Prep 3. PVI 4. Landon 5. Gonzaga 6. Good Counsel 7. SJC |
|
SJC has become an average program in the past 2 seasons.
All social media hype! |
Top Ten 1. Bullis. Not by much 2. Paul VI. It's a good team 3. Georgetown Prep. Gets the nod at 3 with SOS 4. Landon. The Bears compete 5. Good Counsel. Will be jumped if GZ wins 6. St. John’s. GZ is next 7. Gonzaga - Eyeing the #5 spot 8. St. Albans - the goalie and defense are solid 9. Urbana - Best public and a good team 10. Heights - I guess? Notes: STJ wins big; DM beats a good public; EP needs a lot more players |
very funny to get your back up about garbage time goals |
I’d swap GZ with SJC purely because of the PVI victory this week. Gonzaga is playing better lacrosse and has improved since the early part of the season. The eagles are young and will be better down the stretch’s SJC wins look less impressive |
Lol. They will still win WCAC and their 2030 class is insane. |
Their starter is not good. He had 0 saves against Landon. Zero. |
We’ve been hearing the same story the last 4 years on this board. “The incoming freshman class is loaded” Cadets have done little at the national stage and haven’t won a WCAC title since Big Tastey graduated. Maybe it’s time for the AD to bring in a head coach who can build a team culture. |
| SJC “collects “players , does minimal development or promotion of a team culture. |

The SJC hate is pretty extreme.
They lost a one goal game to a good PVI team on the road. Lot of season left; if they don't make WCAC finals, more criticism may be warranted. I am just appreciating that the DMV has so much parity this year. The top 3 IAC (Prep, Landon, Bullis) and top 4 WCAC (GC, GZ, SJC, PVI) could all beat each other. That's good for DC. |
I agree with this however GC might be the weak link on this list or maybe even SJC. That said, the Falcons put up a hell of a fight last night against California national power Torrey Pines |
The St. John's hate dates back to the 22 Class. It's really unfair to think this group of players can live up to that team. The 26 class believed they would be better which is a big goal but they couldn't make it happen. If you didn't appreciate that team when they played in HS all you have to do is watch college lacrosse today and see how great they were. Many are All Americans and several are on the Tewaaraton watch list. Realistically 2 to 3 players in the 26 class will see the field in college. It's time everyone chill on St. John's. They are a good team, not a great one. What St. John's did during that run may not happen again. Dematha was one and done. Ryken had a run last year and they are done. Looks like it's back to Gonzaga and possibly PVI. Let's see if they can go on a several season run. |
The most logical post in pages. There's so much talent right now, and it's a long season. As a dad of a kid on one of those teams, I just hope everybody stays healthy and competes. Great if they win the whole thing, but if they lose, they'll learn. Always play the long game... |
"National power Torrey Pines" is a public school in San Diego that hasn't cracked the top 50 nationally in years. That was quite the description. Falcons not that good. |
