If the motion was filed by the defense does anyone know if it was to dismiss, limit or suppress evidence, have to do with discovery or simply a further continuance for trial preparation? Thanks.

What is the website link to look this up? |

Thats not how the legal system works. Whatever happened in the motion likely has to do with with it. |

Assume there will be media coverage. No one can know what happened unless they were present or have a source. Should know more soon. WP covered last motion hearing. Does not appear that she was released so that would be 6 months in custody by April. She's probably have a few more bond hearings in the meantime. The idea that she would quickly and easily flip seems to have been wishful thinking. No trial date has been set so not related to a trial continuance. Wonder if BB is drawing a paycheck. Her lawyer is not cheap and he likely has one as good or better. |
You can also sign up for text alerts when the docket is updated. |
How do you know he's not cheap? |
Google is your friend, Rose. |
Is BB paying for a lawyer for the Aupair? Or is she getting a public defender? |
Someone is paying for this private lawyer. Washingtonian Magazine’s best criminal defense lawyers – 2011, 2012, 2013, 2018 https://www.kingcampbell.com/our-team/ryan-campbell/ |
This was discussed up thread. In an interview her mom said the family was not paying and that Brazil had not offered any help. Since she has a private attorney, not a public defender, it seems overwhelmingly likely that Banfield is paying. Of course, her case going well also benefits his legal interests. Her lawyer has been mentioned in the press and is listed on the VA docket page, Ryan Campbell. He appears to be an experienced and well regarded criminal defense attorney. |
The WP covered the last motions hearing just before Christmas. Hasn't their metro section shrunk tremendously since then? I believe that article was not same day, but a few days after.
The preliminary hearing would have gotten covered for sure. Oh well, anyone local up for a field trip to the Fairfax County courthouse? Or have jury duty coming up (could take a quick look at motion on a break)? |
I thought it was interesting how There was no coverage either. Even some accounts on Twitter have been covering this and I have seen nothing even 24 hours later. Thinking, maybe the weird weather/delays yesterday may have prevented some folks from going to the motion, and they probably had planned to go to the hearing, which was obviously delayed. But hopefully some reporter will get over there and report out on this. I’ve been stalking websleuths, Reddit, Twitter, etc. lol. |
The only outlet that covered the Dec. motions hearing was WP. Not sure if that reporter is still there? Took a few days, I think. We may have to wait until April... |
