It’s a pandemic and she has unvaccinated kids.

She was just at a packed sports stadium for back-to-back Wimbledon and Euro Cup match with-and-without her unvaccinated child. More like she + William just got back from a long overseas vacation for weeks (his deep tan gives him away). Not ruling anything else out either but this is their vacation time.

I think this is all it is. They are usually “off” late July through early September.

They're usually photographed on their way to, or even at, Balmoral though. Plus first day of school photos with the kids, which they've announced they're not doing this year for some reason.

I think she's going to turn up pregnant with #4. Probably hoping for a sister for Charlotte.

They've been quieter about things like vacations and Balmoral for the whole year. Maybe because of Covid. Anyway they did go to Balmoral with the kids for a week in like August. As for the first day photos, I'm convinced they don't want the public to realize that all three kids are in full-time private school now. Louis started the same school as the older kids last year and there were no photos. Hard to explain what Kate (and William if we want to be equal opportunity) are doing with all their time if their kids are gone 6 hours out of the day.

And its not like the Royal Rota isn't begging for the opportunity for special photos - they've been publicly crying on twitter about going broke in the last two years.

Kate fan girls have excused their work shy ways because they have small kids. But if you have three kids at school and nanny Maria what is the excuse? I’ll be even more curious what they come up with when they ship George off to boarding school next year.

She can choose to work or not. As much or as little as she likes. It’s fun to see that drive you haters crazy.

No, she can’t choose to work or not. That’s literally her role in the family. She needs to increase the workload.

According to who, you? 😂

DP. What do you think QEII means when she differentiates between working and non-working royal?

So you're gleefully waiting for the Queen to turn Kate on her ear because she doesn't meet your standards of 'work'? I hope you have a lot of patience.

I wonder if PP is the resident Canadian who just can't wrap her around the fact that Americans have no reason to care about how often or little Kate works. Americans care about the weddings, jewels, clothes, etc. They don't pay for any of it and have zero vested interest beyond the superficial aspects. It would make little difference to Americans if the royal family ceased to exist. I don't spend a lot of time on Canadian message boards complaining about uniquely American problems. I wonder why she posts here?

DP. Perhaps because this thread is about the BRF and Canada does have a much more relevant perspective on all of this than we Americans do. You may not view Kate's work ethic as being particularly relevant to your American view of the BRF, but obviously citizens of countries whose tax dollars support the BRF have a different perspective.

It’s not Kate’s job to measure up to some Internet random’s arbitrary standards.

But it’s seemingly yours to comment on every single post to defend her. I promise you she has no idea who you are and would never be your “mom friend” if she did know you.

So? Who said I want to be Kate’s bestie? She’s a total stranger to you and you can’t seem to stop harping about her lack of “work”. I promise you this isn’t winning you any brownie points with Meghan.

DP. As background, one of Kate's weirder DCUM fans used to post some very, very strange stuff about imagining how Kate was her best mom friend. It IS a little strange that you have to immediately jump on every comment about her work, IMO.

1) there are multiple posters here
2) you seem unaware that there is a kook here who REALLY wants to keep score about how much Kate works compared to everyone else. You don't find that odd? Hence all the jokes about her "spreadsheets" funny how you know about the "best friend" comment but not the obsessive work poster

I remember the "spreadsheet" post actually, and I don't use the term because it is embarrassing for the Kate fans. In the original spreadsheet post, the person linked to an image from a royalty watching blog. It was a chart created by the blog. But the Kate fans didn't understand the concept of web linked images, and started spinning up about how the poster was keeping spreadsheets and charts. They obviously didn't understand image linking. I would consider myself a Kate fan, but the spreadsheet posters are kind of embarrassing and dim, as they don't understand basic internet facts. So I don't use the term.

Sure, Jan

Shrug. The original thread is still there. You can go look. I mean, whatever, I don't really care if you want to keep looking like an idiot. You do you.

More fodder for the stench of failure wafting from the monarchy.

With Prince Charles having long provoked public unease through his perceived eccentricities and often dogmatic views, the hopes of many monarchists rest with the Cambridges, William and Catherine. They have certainly turned in stellar and assiduous public performances. Yet even here, there are mutterings that Prince William is too much a slave to cultural fashion by banging on about mental health. While it’s admirable to bring this issue in from the cold, the whiff of victimhood risks irritating the public. Rather than making people feel better about themselves, it lowers their mood. In serving as a mirror in which the public want to see the best in themselves, one of the royal family’s key tasks is to lift their spirits.

Britain’s constitutional monarchy exists through the consent of the people. If it loses their support, it’s finished. So why is so much going wrong with the royal family?

Look, lady, you can go look yourself. I mean you don't need to believe me.

And I am a Kate fan. I like her. I dislike her husband and in general I think the BRF is a load of grifters, but I like Kate.

I suppose. It's easy to blame Charles and William for the state of the country, that's one of the main benefits of having a monarchy. But they're not responsible for covid or Brexit.

And if you are honest, you'll admit that the US is having a rough time now and the past few years as well. Too bad we can't blame Charles for it.

That's right - we blamed Trump and got him out of office. They're stuck with Charles and Her Majesty's Prime Minister whose party will be in office for the next 15 years.

Aside from that the monarch is responsible for Brexit. She prorogued (disbanded) Parliament and prevented them from voting to dissolve the resolution. She's the only one who could do it and the only one with the power.

Look at them now.

You can say that. But Brexit needed to happen. Have you payed any attention to the EU in recent years? It was inevitable, the only question was when. And the when is now.

Prince William's 2-year delayed pet project is finally off the ground. It actually looks like it could do some good. I wish he'd worked with his brother on this, they share the same interests in the environment, but whatever. Twice the projects and twice the global efforts.

I mean Charles was the original person in the family interested in the environment so weird they can’t work together. But the more the merrier.

This is probably the most important climate change initiative that exists right now. Bravo!
