VYS Soccer - better or worse?

They must still do it unofficially. Just look at the schedules. Generally, the better teams from each club are playing each other, as are the lower teams.

Absolute nonsense. They try to match strong v strong. This is completely false.

Didn't the 06 boys team win their Jeff Cup bracket?

If they did, it was an extremely low division/flight.

Are you familiar with the team or do you just bash VYS at any chance?

The best player I have seen in the VYS Boys 2006 age group still plays on that VYS 2006 team. Players can go to DA, ECNL, whatever teams and I still think he is the best player I have seen out of the group. Have not seen them this year so maybe he has moved though I doubt it.

Not nonsense, go in and look. If you notice U9, U10, U11 uses letters with teams mixed. Changes to numbers and seedings starting U12. Experienced this first hand and had reached out to NCSL to ask about it b/c the matches were so off.

This is from the NCSL Rules and Procedures Manual:

Division
With the exception of U9, U10, U11 (Fall only for the Open Division), and Fall U12 (Girls division only), a division is a subgroup within an age group formed from teams with similar competitive levels for league play. U9 and U10 divisions (and U11 Girls) are formed geographically with more limited regard to competitive level. In the open division, Fall U11 divisions are formed randomly, except that no two teams from the same club may be placed in the same Fall U11 division. The same is true in the girls division in the Fall U12 division.

I am familiar with the team. If I wanted to bash them, I would have stated the fact that they didn't win a low flight...they won the LOWEST flight. There with 7 major flights with some flights having multiple sub flights (so pretty much 11 total flights). Yes, the 06 boys won the lowest flight. And I wouldn't have brought this up but someone was trying to brag about their success at Jeff Cup.

We played with VYS Red for two years in NCSL (U9-10). VYS Red would play top team at most clubs, VYS Black would play their second team. VYS Red circuit in fall and winter would be top teams from other top clubs in NCSL.

We played too U9-U10. It was a mixed bag - some lower teams, some better teams in those first years - definitely not always the lower teams. White/Silver teams. Got crushed most games. Switched clubs after U10. Seeding seemed to start at U11 or U12 - can't remember.

If I remember correctly, when we played Vienna (and other teams) back at U9 and U10 (not terribly long ago (maybe 4-5 years ago) in NCSL, the divisions were basically based on geographic regions so Division X was like Reston, Great Falls (before merger), Herndon, Alexandria, Vienna, Springfield, PAC, etc. Each club had two teams in this Division and A teams played A teams and B teams played B teams and the games were back to back. So it's definitely not random. Now of course, there were some blow outs and some tight games. And if I remember correctly, Vienna didn't "tier" their teams. I'm not sure how they determined who was on red and who was on Black but Red was only slightly better than Black back then....which didn't make sense because I understand that they didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings but their Red team would get beat up on by other team's A teams and their Black team would beat up on other Club's B teams.

I wasn't bragging. I was wondering why they are "struggling" if they won the Jeff cup?
But that is DCUM for you...

You are right on DCUM. Any positivity on any team will be struck down.
For example: "My DS's team won the UEFA Champions League." The reply to that would be: "Well, they were lucky and additionally, it wasn't the World Cup so STFU."

This is one of the main reasons I read this.
It is anonymous and equivalent to someone writing trash in a public bathroom stall.

There is a MASSIVE difference between winning Jefferson Cup (implies top division) and and winning the lowest division. Saying that they won their division without saying how low it was was deceiving to say the least.

lots of teams 'win' the Jeff cup- without the flight information, that's kids of a meaningless statement Its not uncommon for an "a" team to go winless and a "B" or "C" team to get a medal- that doesn't mean the "A" team isn't the better team. Likewise, going winless in the top flight doesn't mean a team is worse that a team that wins a mid level flight

Sounds a bit petty. But, to each their own.
