Does this hold any weight in these soccer arguments that are always ongoing?

Not when ECNL and DA teams don't participate in State Cup. But I don't think anyone has questioned the strength or quality of CCL either.

DA teams and players don't participate in State Cup, but many ECNL players do. Several clubs double roster the ECNL players so they can participate in both. Not fun for the non-ECNL State Cup players who get displaced, but helpful for Clubs that want to win. This is one plus I see for the proposed girl's DA. I'm sure girls on DA teams will not be eligible for State Cup.

I'm still not sure what the point of your original post is. Has somebody besmirched the good name of CCL or something?

CCL is a good league, so what?

Seriously, we are League bashing? If your kid is under 15 and you are concerned about the league you are doing it wrong. Find the best coach for your kid that you can and ignore the rest.

Is that why only 3 Girls CCL teams made top brackets at the Jeff Cup?
Anonymous
There's actually three CCL team in the top brackets of just the U10G age group (8v8 and 7v7) not to mention a CCL team in the U11, U12 (8v8) and U14 top flights.

Care to list the VPL and WAGS teams in the top flights.

Jeff Cup historically skews their brackets toward ECNL and out-of-state teams, if you've ever paid any attention.

That's been tough for us.

Our big club often won't announce the head coach prior to tryouts. And forget about the assistants.

The biggest factor for me is the coach and they are keeping everyone in the dark with all of the birth year changes.

I have my kids train with a coach of my choosing off-season outside of the club. Where we decide to go next year is highly dependent on mystery coach.

Yeah, I think clubs just are not sure yet how things will break out for next year. Our club has a couple of age groups where there will be lots of kids converging and some age groups where internally they will be short a few kids.

In my mind, where the coaches end up is probably harder to figure out than the kids. Do coaches follow the largest cohort, or progress to the next "U level"?

I think more than usual, people will have their kids tryout at multiple clubs.

What is the split of VPL vs non-VA NPL in that 14?
And what is the in-state vs out-of-state in the top brackets?

To get those NPL and ECNL numbers you're comparing more than half a dozen states to just one league in VA

Geez, we need to get USSF to step in and put an end to all these ridiculous leagues. Or I'll just form my own. We'll win every year!

The VA State cup is the luck of the draw literally.

My sons CCL teams record Against the final four teams of the state cup in CCL league play was 1 win 2 ties and 1 loss yet they lost in the first round of state cup to the eventual champion of the state cup.
