| Just passed this theother day, looks like a new daycare in a church on 16th and Kennedy. I can't seem to find info on the web, has anyone heard of it? I might try to arrange a visit. |
| Yes, I noticed this sign on 16th and Kenndy also. But can not seem to find out any information about the daycare center. I guess a visit is in order. |

I just noticed the sign earlier this week and called to set up a tour for Tuesday. They offer 6 weeks up to 3rd grade. The location would be perfect for me and they're open until 7 pm!
The director said they have moved into the District from PG. |

I visited the center this morning and was very, very impressed by what I saw. The Director and staff seemed extremely knowledgeable about early child education and child care. Everyone I encountered was professional and friendly. The facilities are nice, as well as the programs designed for the children. The pricing is also more reasonable than other NW DC preschools (about $1200/month for a three year old). You don't have to worry about before and aftercare because the center is open 6 AM - 7 PM.
I got the distinct impression that this preschool will not only prepare my child for Kindergarten but do so in a loving environment. It is at the top of my list (right behind Appletree and Bridges). |

so what is the name of the center?
any contact information would be greatly appreciated!! |

Does anyone know how much it is per week/month for an infant?

Here's the website: http://www.sensesofachild.com/
I visited the facility and have good feelings about it. I've called some of the references and they, of course, have glowing things to say about it. I cannot find a lot of information about her other locations in Maryland. However, some of the references I called had children in the Maryland facilities. |
| I visited this daycare about 3 months ago and met the Director's Asst. who gave me a tour but advised that they would be operational in June. From what i saw it looked like an option for our 2 yr old and i am revisiting the decision to enroll him. The Director's name is Ms. Lee and unfortunately was unable to meet her. The facility is close to home and seems to be suitable for children 2 and up. I have concerns about the playground which could use new grounds but on the whole definitely a runner up to JCC. |
| The cost is $290/week which includes lunch and before and after care. Payments are made bi-weekly and they are still taking applications. |

Having recently visited I suspect that some of these comments may be fake/posted by Senses. Though a nice place that says all the right things, there was just something very 'off' about the place. I was troubled to see several bottles of cleaning fluids at toddler level in various locations. I was also disturbed by some of the approaches the Director detailed regarding infant care. I felt like answers to my questions were very vague and, on some things, inaccurate.
Just thought I'd share my experience/reaction as the some of the other reviews weren't consistent with what I saw. |
| i recently visited the day care as well, and it seemed pretty decent to me. the cleaning bottles might be due to the fact that they are still in the process of rearranging the area because they opened not too long ago. I do however agree with the owner (Dr. Lee) being a bit off. however i watched as the other kids were being taken care of by the employees and everything seemed fine. if there are others that have seen the place please share your comments as i am really considering sending my son there. |

My son has been at senses for the last two months (He's 21 months) and has shown a great deal of development...socially, verbally and physically. The staff is very responsive and I feel very comfortable leaving him in their care everyday because it is clear to me that he is shown a lot of love.
BTW...This is not written by a "plant" or staff member of Senses. I'm a bona fide parent. |
