Some of these kids are turning 20 this spring

So what?

Very well thought out response. I was 20 when my senior year of college started. Most college teams would beat most high school teams. If your son needs to be college age to compete at a high school level, then the reason they are good is the same reason that a fourth grade basketball team should beat a first grade basketball team. This is a school team, not a club team. Act like school matters.

Yeah, get off my lawn! Game’s changed, landscape’s changed, certainly since you played and increasingly so in the last five years. True for a lot more than lax. Some of it is worse, some better, but change is the constant. Railing against here is pretty useless.

I think most of us would prefer that there weren’t 20 year olds in high school sports. But despite what some may believe, it is still the exception far more than the rule.

It’s also important to remember that a 20 year old is still in high school for basically one of two reasons. He’s either not that good, or he’s really really dumb. It’s usually the former in lax.

If it makes you feel better to think that your team is the best team that doesn’t have 20 year olds, or the best team that doesn’t have boarders, or the best team that doesn’t recruit, then that’s your prerogative, but it also sounds a little sad.

Just a question on STAs FO winning for them - Doesn't Landon have a D1 commit and STA's guys are uncommitted? How is this a STA big advantage?

Really? At least they went against Culver’s and their PLL aged players and Haverford. GP has played a pretty tame schedule. But the IAC on the whole is weak.

Strength of schedule is one of the few things that can be resolved quantitatively. On several model's scores, mocking Landon OR GP (or StJ or Bullis) on that front betrays a need for remedial math. Indeed, I'm pretty impressed with the schedules of the top tier this year, and good for them, and good for the DMV.

I don’t have kids in H.S. anymore so no skin in the game but I’ve seen every WCAC team play multiple times and STJ should absolutely run the table and win the WCAC. Their talent advantage game to game is huge- they have high D1 kids who barely play. Anything short of winning the WCAC would be a huge indictment of the coaches.

They had that advantage last year and didn't make the championship game.
