Americans are stupid! |
The nurse wasn't really symptomatic at the time she flew; she had a 99.5 temp which doesn't meet an official threshold. Unlike other diseases like flu which transmit when someone is asymptomatically incubating, Ebola is only contagious when symptomatic, particularly when "wet symptoms set in. It is not a respiratory or airborne virus and only transmitted via contact. It can, however, live on surfaces for a few days. |
They need to show proof of where they have been the last 30 days before entering the us |
| Usaid was around for like 64 years and didn't cure ebola not a good track record |
Are you being sarcastic or are you just fantastically ignorant? 1) Ebola wasn't recognized as a disease 64 years ago. 2) USAID wasn't founded to "cure diseases" and do scientific research. You might want to learn about the National Institute of Health and the World Health Organization. USAID did play a key role in country level surveilance of disease and supporting the capacity of national institutions to fight diseases. We're not an island. We're not isolated. We are part of a global community, and the transport systems enable people and viruses that may be hitchhiking, if you will, on these people to be able to move across borders. Too bad if it happens to you. |
Check out its waste track record. And political pet project ones. ROI negative big time. |

Slush fund to do whatever with American Middle class tax revenue.
The music has stopped. Why is this thread even going. Rip USAID, party time is over. |
USA has other public and private organizations that do a better job with better talent, less overhead, and better results than USAID ever did. The end. |
Like my USAID neighbor! Not a doctor, not a nurse, not a PA, yet paid $175k according to foia to travel around and stack boxes. And work from home when in DC. Doing nothing. |
You FOIAed your neighbor? Did you get their position description and it was stacking boxes? |
Depends what’s in those boxes |
USAID foreign service officers - like all FSOs - are not FOIA covered due to security concerns. Try again, liar. |
