Closing USAID

Lets see- life saving medical supplies and medicine, and security at refugee camps, construction on dams and bridges, food distribution, violence prevention in conflict areas, support to sexually abused children, but I guess you only care about yourself.

This is how we hand the world over to China.

Congrats Trump losers, hope you like losing.

What kind of money are we talking, OP?

Which countries no longer have starving children as a result of all this funneled cash?

Wow. I often wonder how people could have voted for Trump. Then I read a response like this and see there really are awful, cold hearted people out there!

NP. Our own kids are hungry

And about to get a lot hungrier. Trump won't be helping poor Americans.

Higher grocery prices expected this week. Also unstable market means likely increase in unemployment.

Though I am very skeptical that Trump supporters can be penetrated by facts:

Last year the smallest proportion of children in history died before the age of five, and the smallest proportion of people in history lived in extreme poverty

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/01/18/opinion/2024-child-mortality-poverty-growth.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShare

I am proud of my country when they play a role in those types of admirable achievements.

It’s also unlawful, since USAID was enshrined as its own agency by statute decades after the EO, but whatevs I guess.

But MAGA will be ok with it because Trump said the pain will be worth the price.

So I get it. You're saying our government should cash-app $5K per kid to poor parents in the US? Or $10K? What amount would let each kid eat well per year?
I'm all for this!!!

Someone I don't think you want these kids to have a dime either.

Cash app? Why that?

I was being sarcastic because the MAGA replies to posts on USAID are always "US kids are hungry" and yet I doubt most of them want a cent of money to go to poor US kids either. They would be up in arms if there was any direct transfer of money to the US poor.

And it also takes away our soft influence and opens the door for china and other rivals to fill the vacuum.

That’s already happened.

Things are getting so bad that even the MAGA troll posts here are getting sparse and extra stupid.

Exactly. We are showing our weakness and are ceding power to China.
