War with Iran

Anonymous

The midterms will be lit...

... on fire by Trump. The GOP will have wailing and gnashing of teeth. FAFO, truly.

I hope the Dems don't cave on the partial shutdown. This administration cannot ask for more domestic security funding for DHS just because the President unilaterally decided to start a way without Congressional authorization.

This! This! This!
Trump is flushing our taxpayer dollars down the toilet. How many billions is he spending every day? We cannot afford this adventurism.

This! +1000 he’s a dying old man checking off items on his to-do list and making sure he takes care of his bros before he croaks.

This is a war almost 40 years in the making.

Trump said in *1987* that the US should attack "horrible, horrible" Iran, "and take over some of their oil." In the years since, Trump talked about seizing oil from Venezuela, Iraq, Syria, Kuwait, and Libya.

This is the problem with dementia. Trump is largely living in the 70s (when NYC was crime ridden, when Iran was an existential threat, etc).

Or he thinks it's all one glorious UFC fight. CNN quotes him saying we're "knocking the crap" out of Iran. This is how the buffoon speaks about a deadly conflict that could result in WWIII breaking out. It's all one big UFC fight he placed a big bet on and expects to win.

He thinks it will overshadow EPSTEIN! He is a fool because nothing will keep the trump-Epstein files off the front page!

Good God. Give it a rest. You people are totally obsessed with Epstein when you didn’t utter a word about the files or the victims during Biden’s 4 years.

And if your critical thinking were in place you would realize that if there was a hint of anything credible pointing to any criminal acts by Trump, the Democrats would have used that in a hot second.

That’s still your talking point? That Trump is totally innocent and has never done anything wrong or broken any laws?

PP would enlist and die for Trump. Or they’d send their own kids to the front lines to sacrifice themselves for the demented orange menace.

This is the true Trump Derangement Syndrome.

MAGA’s pride and self-worth is entwined with Trump. Trump has given their lives new meaning. That’s where the “cult” comes in. They believe they are “in the know” and see the true light at the end of the tunnel (but that light is a speeding train headed right for them and all that’s supposedly precious in their world.)

Kuwait got in a few shots, taking down 3 American planes "by accident"

It’s about $300M to replace those planes, btw. So glad the pilots and crew are safe.

And we have no healthcare, and are homeless are vets that fight in these pointless Zionist wars. I’m sick of it.

The elites don't care.

No rules of engagement

Hegseth said that rules of engagement are “stupid” and that the United States will not be constrained by them.

To be fair he was talking about civilians, unarmed men, women and children.

No he wasn’t. This was today. Talking about the U.S. war in Iran. Because he’s incompetent and doesn’t understand why rules of engagement matter.

"No stupid rules of engagement, no nation building quagmire, no democracy building exercise, no politically correct wars. We fight to win, and we don't waste time or lives," Hegseth said.

They were more angry about Cracker Barrel changing its own logo than they are about starting another Middle East war for oil.

Its not about how Trump loves Iranians and how his heart aches for their pain, but how much oil they've and how Nathanyahu wants to destroy them.

I realize that’s crazy talk to anyone born in the 1990s or the 2000s. If you learned your foreign policy in a post-9/11 Ivy League classroom, or from some based online bugmold with a newsletter, that sounds like the reckless neocon warmongering that put us into a quagmire in Iraq.

But I was born in the 1970s. I remember the shocking barbarism of the fatwa against Mr. Rushdie. I remember the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorism of the 1980s, the 1994 suicide attack on the Jewish community center in Buenos Aires, the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing. I remember Terry Anderson and Terry Waite. I remember that al Qaeda members, including Osama bin Laden’s son, were given sanctuary in Iran after 9/11.

Any American over 50 knows who started it. The claim that Iran is the world’s No. 1 state sponsor of terrorism is more than words. It strikes deep. The Islamic Republic has waged war on the West and Western values for half a century. The Foundation for Defense of Democracies keeps a handy tally of Tehran’s long and bloody résumé. Check it out sometime.”

If you'd like to fight the Mullahs, you're free to do so. Stop using our children to do it.

“Our children” - or rather, our military - are getting rid of this sick regime which has caused so much terror around the world for decades. Very thankful right now but it figures that you would want the Islamic Regime to continue sowing terror both within Iran and worldwide.

It is highly unlikely that there will be regime change without boots on the ground. Do you honestly think the US is going to commit the hundreds of thousands of troops on another continent with huge logistical support issues, to take on the Iranian army and republican guard that have millions of troops? This isn't a video game.

Stop talking about children or military or anything else. Just gtfo out of this country and don't say another word.

Or haven't you heard about the more than 30,000 veterans who have committed suicide since 9.11.2001? An event that never would have happened if the state of Israel didn't exist... as a genocidal apartheid ethnostate that America somehow supports.

It’s a shame they don’t involve you in their plans considering you are such an accomplished military mind and all. If you know anything about our military, they don’t take orders from any foreign power. This is a joint operation. It appears the US is targeting nuclear sites and striking missile launching sites while Israel is taking out Iran’s leadership. This is what a coordinated joint effort looks like.

Sadly that is no longer true. This entire fiasco in Iran is not in the national security interest of the United States.

Besides Trump obliterated Iran’s nuclear sites last summer, right?

I guess the “facts” have changed

It's bad for the stock market. It's going to be bad for the economy long term, because we're going to add more trillions to the national debt and shackle our descendants' economic wellbeing for generations to come. All these wars we've been involved in post-WWII have contributed to the USA not being as wealthy as we could have been.

It was an insane decision to go to war in this manner. Trump has no concept of what's actually good for the country. He thinks the Maduro kidnapping was a success - it wasn't. The Venezuela coup was for nothing: there's still an authoritarian regime in power, and the oilfields are so damaged they will take decades to be profitable, and in the meantime, the US cannot keep bullying Venezuela into accepting highly unfair and asymmetrical shares of profit.

He's making the same mistake in Iran, thinking a decapitation of the regime will lead to... what exactly? A peaceful transition to power to a more liberal government is NOT POSSIBLE. The Iraq wars tell us this much. It led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of civilians in the region! And the end result for the US was what? Expenses in money and American lives.

THIS IS INSANE.

Maybe Trump’s ADD will save us. He has the attention span of a peanut. Details about a drawn out conflict don’t interest him.

Donald W Bush!

I cannot believe the lies he and his team told us before the election. Kamala and Liz Cheney were supposedly the warmongers and hawks. Kamala will send our children to die in Iran.

I don’t care what his MAGA cultists say on here. I am a Trump voter who is livid about his actions. I now plan to vote for Democrats to make sure he is investigated and impeached.

For once, we need to focus on our own country and fix our internal instead of focusing on external problems.

Trump and Hegseth haven’t put forth an objective for all this so I’m not even sure what a win will look like. Trump spent two hours blathering to the American people less than a week before starting this and barely said a word about it. Neither did the national defense strategy document that was released very recently.

That’s what Trump said he would do. Instead he is fighting Israel’s wars.
