I think he was a foreigner.

Why would Thompson come out this early?

This definitely was someone from the inside organization.

So at what time did they call of the meeting?

It wasn’t canceled. It had already begun and they cut it off in the middle of the earnings call shortly after the shooting saying it was due to a medical situation.

I don’t know how many times people need to hear this. I’m not directing this to PP but to the many people who keep commenting how did he know where he was etc. etc. This was a regularly scheduled quarterly earnings report. The date the time all of it is known in advance and widely publicized across multiple news sites and countless apps There was nothing secret or special about this meeting. Anyone can go to the company website and sign up for example to be on the call. You don’t have to be a shareholder to access any of the information. It’s all completely public. Go to the earnings whisperer website or download the app QARTR for example and you will see all of the earnings calls scheduled for a given date.

You’re not that smart. HTH did this guy know where this guy was entering 5 minutes before he did? He wasn’t waiting, so you should get your facts straight. Nobody can know this unless someone was detailing his movements to the killer.

How did he know then that he was in another hotel and walking to the meeting? Meeting started at 8 AM. He was ready by 6;40 ... How did he know he was not in that hotel itself... Something is fishy.

Exactly. I’m thinking more and more that Thompson wanted to be dead. They need to be looking at all of his banking records to see anything unusual.

Wonder if they investigated if Thompson owned any guns - searched his home, asked his wife and friends?

Just to clear up who is at fault on healthcare prices--it is a combination and often depends who has the market power in a given market. Sometimes that is a large hospital/system of providers, and sometimes it is the insurance company. Varies geographically, but the answer is both, although depends as to market.

Did they search Thompson’s cell phone?

The whole system is a sh&t show. Cardiologist in the US make like a half a million, in the Uk it’s like £150K.

People should be mad at their legislators for allowing it to get this way. This is not to say that insurers don’t have their problems but they are but one cog in the wheel of grift and dysfunction.

Cardiologists actually provide an extremely valuable service. Insurance companies suck money out of the system. Do you really not see the difference?

But this reflects the larger problem in healthcare- everyone is fiercely protective of their piece of the pie. The reason the insurance is charging so much and declining so much is at least partially because it now costs $1600 for 20 minutes of a specialist’s time. It’s just not sustainable and is eating our economy alive.

Everyone in this twisted, perverse system should be getting a LOT less money. But how?

This is a joke question, right? Public healthcare.

I think the wife set this up. She wanted the guy out of the way so she could live her best life and hired someone who could make it look like this was about insurance.

In many cases they keep the system from ripping people off and in many cases make sure that people don’t get the wrong med or unnecessary procedures. I know you think your doctor is the bees knees and would never do anything unethical or wrong but you would be wrong. Consider the fact that so many physician groups have sold out to PE who are managing care by the way in which they manage the practice. The docs didn’t sell because they are concerned about the good of the patients - they wanted a paycheck. There are no innocents in this game.

This is obnoxious. There are other possibilities beyond an accomplice. Here are a few:

1. He got lucky. He knew the victim would be leaving at some point prior to 8 (or whatever time the event began), so he got there early and got lucky when the victim left the hotel early.

2. He had prior knowledge of the victim's routine. For example, he knew that the victim would go and get coffee an hour or so before a big meeting.

3. He had access to visual surveillance of the victim, either by accessing hotel security cameras or by some other means.

I'm not saying he didn't have an accomplice, but your attitude that there is absolutely no other possibility is foolish.

Maybe he had hacked the victim’s phone and trace his movements.

17:25 is ridiculous.

How much does it cost the cardiologist to become a cardiologist in the US as compared to the UK? I would imagine cardiologists here owe a ton of money in loans.

Oh yeah. All those poor cardiologists living in trailer parks by the river.

It says the killer arrived just 10 minutes before Thompson appeared.
Sheer luck, huh?
Some of you are incredibly naive. Someone obviously told the killer when to arrive. Obviously.

I posted the time earlier. It was 5 min.

What was 5 min?

The gunman waited at the scene for 5 minutes before shooting.
