Okay? I think you're not the target audience. There are a lot of othere shows -- and other threads -- though. Maybe you could go over there?

The target audience is NOT “woke” millennials. They THINK they’re going to get them to watch with this nonsense, but no way.

The target audience are the original viewers. And we just want to see what happens to these people. The end. None of this ridiculous writing.

Why do you think this is the only thing that defines the target audience?

Because this show is old. And it had a cult following. No one new is tuning in.

My co-workers in their 20s and 30s are watching. Kim Kardashian is watching. It has been the biggest view audience of a series debut in HBOMax's entire history, and the viewership went up by more than an additional 50% for the second show. That's not all people that look like you and think like you. There just aren't that many of you.

It will be interesting to see where this goes in Nielsen demographics. I'll update the thread when I see it.

Meanwhile, you are (of course) entitled to your opinion. I'd encourage you to consider that there is a lot of the world going on that apparently you don't see or don't understand, but it's still there. Maybe it would be interesting to just let it be and not necessarily try to shut it down.

Well, if Kim Kardashian is watching, you know it must be good.

No, you know it is being watched. "No one new is tuning in" was the error.

Reading comprehension is hard for some people.

I hate-watched the show back in the day.
I was in my 20’s living in NYC in the early 2000’s.
I found the characters kind of terrible, and thought the writing was kind of bad.
It wasn’t a fun fantasy to engage in. I was single, and living in Inwood. I couldn’t even afford Washington Heights. That version of New York was just so out of reach.

Fine with me!

Yeah, the fewer credibly accused rapists in television, the better.

She gets wakened from her hap by the Miranda/Che shanigans in the kitchen, and is understandably mortified. If I were her, I would want to hide under my covers with my fingers over my ears! But instead, she just HAS TO PEE RIGHT THIS SECOND OMG SHE CAN’T EVEN HOLD IT FOR TWO MINUTES…. What is that?? Is it supposed to be a side effect of her painkillers? My husband has had two quite serious back surgeries with all kinds of heavy opiods, and this peeing issue was … not a thing.

I guess it did make the scene kind of funny, though, along with the “this is awkward!” music. I thought the kitchen scene itself was very hot. (And wrong, messed up, troubling… but still hot!)

Was thinking the same thing! Why couldn't she just wait a few before trying to get out of bed? Only explanation is that Carrie is so self centered and what she wants to do, everyone else has to follow immediately.

This is the correct explanation

Sorry if this has been discussed, but I hate how Carrie refused to see that Miranda has a drinking problem until now. She’s a terrible friend.

It’s not like Miranda’s been falling down drunk on a regular basis. I know some who regularly over imbibe a bit (imo) but always seem to stay on this side of the line. And although day drinking is a red flag, it hadn’t been clear cut.

Agree. Charlotte wasn't concerned until she saw the vodka bottles in her back pack. It was only obvious to the viewers until then.

Carrie's always been a bad friend. Today's episode she completely dismisses Miranda's issues saying that it's "not a thing, Big dying is a thing". She's completely oblivious to anything that doesn't directly involve her.

That new apartment though - eek!

I need that facelift app.

It’s so strange neither of her friends is at all focused on Steve, possibility of marital counseling etc. The writing is just awful, and not helping flesh out the new additions well either.

Seema should know Carrie well enough by now to know that new place was not remotely her. Hope she enjoyed the commission!

They were beginning to have an honest conversation at lunch then cut it off so abruptly. That’s what we wanted to see, not the fluff!

YEs, why aren't they asking her about the cheating, but instead are focusing on her sexuality?
