IOWA test

Can anyone tell when IOWA tests are taken? How early can these tests can be taken? Can we do this outside school help? Any kind of information would be really helpful. I am new FCPS and my child is in 3rd grade. I missed few things for my kid due to delayed information.

are there any bob jones-certified testers for iowa algebra aptitude test in the NoVa area? are there any enrichment-school-administered iowa tests around here?

The Iowa Algebra Aptitude Test (IAAT) is taken in 6th grade.

What is the Iowa test used for? Is it given to all 6th graders or just the ones interested in being in a certain level math in middle school? I keep hearing about it but don't know what it's for. I currently have a child in AAP, although not a 6th grader. Will she have to take it in order to stay in AAP middle school?

Mathematics 7 Honors is open enrollment for all students; however, there are specific requirements for enrollment in Algebra I Honors in 7th grade.

Enrollment in Algebra I Honors in 7th grade is based on the following criteria:
? Successful completion of Compacted Mathematics 6 or a year-long accelerated mathematics program
? Score at or above the 91st percentile on the Iowa Algebra Aptitude Test (IAAT)
? Score a pass advanced (500 or above) on the grade 7 mathematics Standards of Learning (SOL) test

If your child takes 6th grade compacted math, it is applicable. Compacted math is at many elementary schools and not just at AAP centers.

A follow on - does anyone know if/when the parents get the results? DD took the test in January and I haven't seen anything more about it.

What if you do a child in aap, is this applicable? I mean, is compacted math in 6th grade a course that aap students take, or is that just for non-aap students?

All AAP Center kids in 6th grade are in compacted math, so yes, the Iowa test is applicable for 6th grade AAP Center kids.
