Is this same poster's kid still on the team? This has to be the same poster who has had an axe to grind with this team for some time. Either you have a kid on the team which is strange that you would keep him on the team or you don't which may even be more strange that you obsess over the team and track the team record. This team will be entering recruiting season soon and all that matters is that they will play in the NAL/Crabfeast/Big 4/and NLF events that coaches attend. If a kid can play VLC/NL/ML/DCE will get the kid a chance to get recruited. Tracking stats?? Not so much |
The PP asked for feedback on the team. The stats plainly show that the team is weak and has not been well-coached. This problem has existed for years because the team has similar stats for 2021 and 2020. Yes VLC will go to NAL/Crabfeast/Big 4/NLF but only to serve as a punching bag for the stronger teams. Maybe it's "better than nothing" to be at those events on a team that's getting thrashed but I can't imagine players on that team are going to get much positive attention from a recruiting coach. You can say "ignore the stats, trust the process" but stats over the course of several years (not one season or one tournament) show the process isn't working. That is what matters. The PP would surely want to know that before investing $2500 and considerable time in this team. |
The answer to your question is B, the poster's son left the team, and the poster has now been obsessing over the team and its record for some time. If the poster's son was killing it on a new team, the poster would have moved on by now. Just saying. But any post about the VLC 2025 team will draw a detailed response from this guy, guaranteed, so get the popcorn. |
OK, got it, you have no convincing answer to the stats, and you accept the inarguable evidence that the team is weak and poorly coached. All your efforts to make the discussion about irrelevancies, i.e. the identity and motives of other people, aren't going to change the facts. |
| You’ve already heard from the guy who hates the team. Now talk to the parents of the players currently on the team. Get their feedback. And maybe a few of the folks on the 24 and 23 teams. Do the tryout and assess. |
11 College commits' and counting for the 2023 team. There is not another Virginia club that is even close. Of course the MD clubs all have NOVA kids so that is an option. They say the stats don't lie, this is the stat that counts. A one goal loss the 25 team had to Madlax means nothing to a college coach evaluating players at the events. I hope the bitter ex VLC parent is enjoying the play at whichever club but I would not worry too much about VLC 25. |
I don't hate the team. I just told him the undeniable truth - that it is a weak team - and if you recall, I said that their weakness means they're likely open to new players. And if your kid isn't on the team then what is the value of your opinion and why are you even in this thread? |
I pointed out that 2025 has been a consistently weak team for the past three years. Now look at 2023. You can see they have been a consistently strong team for the past three years: 7-2 in 2020, 14-6 in 2021, and 14-7-1 in 2022. 2023 and 2025 is an apples and oranges comparison. If 2023 had been weak two years ago and was strong now, then talking about the 2023 team might be relevant to the 2025 team. But the way things look now, so sorry but in two years the 2025 team is simply not going to have 11 college commits. They've got three strong players who are college material, that's it. I suppose they could recruit a bunch of great new players in the meantime and get college commits that way, which could certainly happen, but that's not the same as their present roster going on to college greatness from their current mediocre level of play. |
Wow.... just figured out who this is. Please post the IP address.

How much time outside of practice were the players putting in on their own on the 2025 team? Maybe the kids just aren't that good?? Overall the coaching staff at VLC is top notch but most of the heavy lifting falls on the players to achieve their goals. |
You folks are funny. Everyone on the team knows who it is. Sort of sad actually. Hopefully he will find closure and move on eventually. |
Everyone also knows that DiCo comes in here and tries to divert attention from the lamentable performance of this team by blaming the parents and the players. Yet he chose three coaches in a row and the team is still in the doldrums. Whose fault is that, DiCo? Where's the management oversight? |
Let's leave his son out of it. His son didn't ask for this. |
It is hard to separate the son's experience on the team from the poster's obsession. People only kick into this gear when their DD or DS had a bad experience. it is not as if the poster chose a random team out of a hat to track its every move and report to DCUM. |
