I'll start - former teacher here.
I used to teach at a rough, urban public high school and would meet parents all the time that were in complete denial that their child was involved in a gang, selling drugs or stealing ipods/phones out of people's lockers. I guess it's no different than affluent parents that believe their "little angel" is incapable of date rape, cocaine use/dealing, etc. One of my colleagues also called the special ed students "speds" |

Your child is a disrespectful, lazy mofo that needs to get his ass whupped.
Of course I would say something more along the lines of "Johnny has the ability but just isn't applying himself." |
| Have you reserved a bunk in Attica for DC? |
| Let me explain why you as a parent are more important to your child's education than I am. No really, listen to me, this is important. |

In the report card comment section, "independent" really means doesn't listen and can't work with others.
Also, make your kid take responsibility when they do something wrong. I know saying no to them is going to elicit an unpleasant reaction but you aren't doing them any favors by letting them get away with destroying school property. |
| Your children want you to attend events that are important to them. Even if they tell you it isn't a big deal, they want you to be there. |
| in an upper middle class suburb: about half the kids in my class are 'below average.' yes, including your child. |
| Your child is a bully and is terrorizing some of his/her classmates on a daily basis. |
OK, now this one bothers me. Shouldn't the teacher be actively working with the parents, counselor and principal to correct this problem? It sounds to me like the teacher is ignoring the situation. |

What I can tell them: Your child will be provided with a healthy breakfast here provided they arrive by 8:00.
What I can't tell them: How ignorant are you to give your five year old a bag of Cheetos and a coke and call it "breakfast" ? I'm really mad at you. Now your child will be bouncing off the walls all morning. Talk about not being "ready to learn." |
Oh, we're working on it. I just can't be that direct with the parents. |
| Your child needs medication for ADHD. |
| That I have a rabbit at home and I love using it after dealing with your pain in the ass kids. |
| For your child's sake, please at least make an effort to learn how to speak English. |
| The homework was for the child, not you. |
