This. When police get a warrant, they have to identify what they're looking for and provide evidence that establishes PC that the thing they're looking for will be found in the location to be searched. They can't just say "These people look suspicious, so we are going to poke around their house and see if we find anything linking them to a murder." They have to say we are looking for a gun or a bloody shirt or a cell phone or a distinctive jacket or whatever. |
When you make up your mind without actually investigating, there’s no basis to search anything but Karen’s phone for nudes. Got it. |
Maybe at least knock on the door to advise the homeowners that a dead body was just found in their yard? Or is it disrespectful to bother a homeowner over such a non trivial thing? |
A dead body in your yard isn’t cause??? He was INSIDE that house that night. He didn’t just walk by. |
Why are people riding so hard for a woman who drunkenly backed into her BF? It doesn’t seem like she meant to do it, so she may not be a terrible person, but I don’t get the cult following. Don’t people do things like this all the time? |
The jury got it right. The evidence supported the OUI charge. There was credible expert testimony that no collision occurred. That’s reasonable doubt and requires a not guilt on all offenses involving an accident. |
Cause for what? |
THERE IS ZERO EVIDENCE THAT HE EVER ENTERED THAT HOUSE. MORE THAN A DOZEN WITNESSES PLUS DIGITAL DATA ARGUE AGAINST HIM EVER ENTERING THE HOUSE. KAREN HERSELF NEVER CLAIMED HE ENTERED THE HOUSE UNTIL MORE THAN A YEAR LATER WHEN SHE COOKED UP HER INNOCENCE FRAUD CAMPAIGN. KAREN READ KILLED JOHN O'KEEFE. PERIOD. |
Not guilty on all but OUI was the just outcome. People who had her as guilty of murder are either delusional or hadn't spent a minute on the evidence presented. The prosecution never even established that this was a homicide. That's a pretty basic beginning for any kind of murder case. No science, no evidence, just a bunch of calls and a whole pile of shit. Now on to the federal case, where I imagine we'll learn a lot more about the townie popo. |
I think it’s the police bias that was clearly demonstrated throughout the investigation and trials. Most people I know (I live in the area) think there’s a chance she accidentally it, but they can’t get over the police actions. |
Apparently the jury doesn’t agree whether you use caps or not. I wish her a wonderful life of freedom. |
It’s funny how the police had no evidence of a crime they failed to investigate. There was a broken drinking glass at the scene and he wasn’t dressed for the cold. That and the fact that he’d been texting with people about coming to the house and, you know, the fact that his dead body was found right in front of the house, would result in a warrant to search the house if the house belonged to an average citizen. |
You must not be an attorney at all if you think they couldn’t have found PC to search the house. They likely didnt because they were cops and everyone knows it. In this case: • O’Keefe’s last known location was the house. • He was found mortally injured outside it. • There were people inside who admitted he had planned to visit. • There were inconsistencies and delays in some witness statements. = PC Unfortunately they had tunnel vision and focused on karen without actually INVESTIGATING. You want to be mad, be mad at the CW. |
What "things to be seized" do you feel the police should have listed in an application for a search warrant? That is, what things should they have looked for inside that house? |
Of course there is zero evidence. Because they didn’t investigate. Thats the issue. Sorry, you know damned well they should have searched the house. He was dead on the lawn, he had planned to go inside, he had been invited inside, he wasn’t wearing a coat, his injuries were not particularly consistent with a car hitting him, etc. Next time tell your cop buddies not to mess with evidence, and to behave like professionals. |
