No more MoCo indoor masks!

Right. Like we were going to "flatten the curve" in 14 days. It's always 14 more days.

Sorry, I'm done. I've tossed all of my masks and will not wear one again.

Plan not to fly anywhere, or take Metro, or enter premises that have a mask requirement.

Also: "A person is considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 ≥2 weeks after receipt of the second dose in a 2-dose series (Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna) or ≥2 weeks after receipt of the single dose of the Janssen vaccine."

Why do you suppose Elrich and Gayle, who've been super conservative about covid, have stated no more masks now?

Do you propose we wear masks until covid is wiped off the face of the earth? When do you suppose this will be?

Yeah, this is spot on. These people were more at risk in Jan and Feb when everyone had their masks on, due to the high levels of spread at that time.

If everyone had had their masks on in January and February, then there wouldn't have been high levels of spread.

come on, this thread is about MoCo.

In Jan & Feb I never once saw a single person without a mask on. And we had a peak just like other places.

That's because it was spreading in places where (1) people weren't wearing masks and (2) you weren't there to see them not wearing masks: workplaces, social settings, and people's homes.

I'm fully vaccinated.

What rational, scientific reason is there for me to keep wearing a mask?

What rational, scientific reason is there for pitching fits about how you refuse to ever wear a mask ever again?

There's some small number of immune compromised people posting on here that the country should always wear masks forever because it will help them. Then there's the people complaining that their 11 year old can't get vaccinated therefore we should wear masks until they can get both doses of the vaccine + 2 weeks. The real solution is a lot easier. People that are vaccinated and those with children under 12 (including me) that are willing to take the chance of going out in public unmasked with our children can do so. I understand there's a non-zero chance my kid could get severe COVID but that chance, while not zero, is actually very close to it. I'm willing to take that risk just as I'm willing to take them to swimming pools where they have a non-zero chance of death. As for the immune compromised, well it's back to regular life for them. We didn't build a special bubble world for them prior to COVID and they could have died of flu or pneumonia then, why would we build a special bubble world now? Be responsible for yourself.

DP..ask Fauci and Gayle why it's fine to unmask. They are the experts, remember?

Immunocompromised and people who are unable to get vaccinated should stay home. They should have always stayed home. As for poor/immigrant adults who have been working in person, those persons were the first to be offered vaccines many months ago. For the vast majority of people, side effects last .5-1 day at most.

We have all already wasted over an entire year of our lives - you're really mad that people want to have a normal life again? And that people value their quality of life (which you are in no position to determine for another human being). Anyone who can't or isn't able to get vaccinated at this point, can and should stay home. You should never put your health in the hands of other people and expect others to care more about your health than you.

That answers a different question. Fauci and Gayle did not say that it's fine to have tantrums if people nonetheless ask you to wear a mask.

The state reports 67.6% of all adults in Maryland have received at least one shot of the vaccine.

I'm not pitching a tantrum. I'm just not going to agree to wear a mask anywhere it isn't required by law.

Sorry science deniers, I will continue to go to the store w/o a mask and everywhere else I go.

Sorry if you are immunocompromised etc. etc. The world can't revolve about each person's individual needs.

Honestly - Generation Y and Z are barely having sex, let alone kids. Like PP, they are deep in their narcissistic feelings. You can’t really expect them to care about kids or sick people. Obvi maskless selfies with din-din are more important.

Oh please. You're just a typical Karen control freak. Let me guess, you avoid eating peanuts in public at a restaurant because you're worried about kids who may have severe peanut allergies too, right? Where does it end?

DP. +1. The ironic thing about peanut bans is that there is evidence that they contribute to more severe allergic reactions. Unfortunately, the “bubble wrap” approach to life can backfire.

Ahhhhh

Feels good doing cardio in the gym without a mask on.

+1. Yep. This pretty well sums it up. Couldn’t agree more.
