Prince Philip has died...

I mean all they have to do to stick a knife in is to have an unnamed palace source say Prince Philip was deeply distressed by the interview and intimate it sped up his departure from the mortal coil.

Is this a joke?

DP. I am waiting for the British Embassy to announce if there will be a book of condolences to sign. If so, I will be there. The first television show I saw was the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. I have been smitten by Prince Philip since then. Let we Anglophiles have our day and our tears as they fall

We would certainly extend the same courtesy to you should one of the Kardashians die.

Not this woman. I think she could live another ten years.

The firm 10 (plus Archbishop):
The Queen
Prince Charles
Duchess Camilla
Prince Andrew
Princess Anne
Capt. Lawrence
Prince Edward
Countess Sophie
Prince William
Duchess Kate
Archbishop of Canterbury (religious leader)

4 other possibles - Eugenie and Zara both are post-partum in a pandemic. Meghan is heavily pregnant in a pandemic. I don’t think their spouses will show without them.

Holy heck is this what you do for fun?

If it’s a private funeral we won’t know who attends.

If the Queen wants a big funeral then they will delay it.

A) It's being live televised

B) They can't delay it - Covid restrictions are strict in the UK through May 17th. What do you think the Queen's going to do - freeze him?

He’s already “on ice”.

If he's going to wait for 30 days they'll have to do more than standard embalming protocol and it may not be reversible...

I think the palace got in touch - they changed it

That's too bad. I like the bathing suit photo. (It's not a Speedo.) He was a vigorous, athletic, action-oriented man, and this photo captures that. It's the only one that reflects him, and not his position as the husband of the queen.

The only one? In 99 years of life? I think that's a ridiculous thing to say.

Oh, good grief! I meant of the three photos on the front page, not in life. What a ridiculous interpretation!

why, he actually did well towards his grandfather?

Philip would not have seen it that way. He'd have been furious on the queen's behalf b/c Harry was airing dirty laundry in public, something you just don't do. And it hurts the queen.

However I doubt he knew what was going on. They must have filtered the news he got during the last few months.

Save for the death of the actual monarch

The point is they didn't have to choose that photo. Its not respectful at all, hence the change.

Funeral will be lowkey. Not as 'we just escaped the fire with our lives and grandmom's old dress' lowkey as Beatrice's wedding but still...lowkey

Harry will be invited. Like the other American divorcee, Wallis Simpson, Meghan Markel will not be invited. Like his great uncle, the Duke of Windsor, Harry will arrive at the funeral without his wife but with all of his grievances.
His marginalization will be evident, just as it was with Edward

I agree that they might have found a better photo to depict his active nature than this one of him water-skiing, but disagree that it's disrespectful. I think it's kind of charming.

The best PR move for the BRF is make a show of warmly welcoming Harry and family solidarity. I'm not sure they're smart enough to do that, though, given the bone-headed moves they've made since the interview.

Harry HAS to go--with or (preferably) without Meghan.

I don't think so. Wife in third trimester, pandemic where the UK variant is especially virulent, limited mourner guest list, and his home state of CA doesn't open up to vaccine everyone 16 and over until April 15th.

Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Thursday that the nation’s most populous state would start vaccinating anyone 50 and over in a week and the population more broadly — except those under 16, for whom vaccines have not yet been authorized — on April 15.

If you think Harry isn't already vaccinated, I have a bridge to sell you.
