Tiger Woods in major accident

Police not doing their own tests, or using the hospital test to inform their decisions on any charges, is outrageous.

Well the constitution disagrees.

You can’t collect a persons blood unless you have probable cause.

Some of you guys always assume the worst. Tiger has been on the wagon for several years, the golf channel even reported that he wanted minimal anesthesia for his recent back surgery. Maybe it was just an accident. Those do happen.

I think people think it’s very unlikely to have a single car rollover accident like that unless something else is wrong.

I know the road where he crashed and it is dangerous. But Tiger used to live not far from there, so I'm sure he knows that road too. Seems unlikely to me that this was a run of the mill accident.

No brakes- even after hitting a sign, going over a median strip and crossing two opposing lanes of traffic.

If anything, his driving record alone is not doing anything for Asian stereotypes.

Not no breaks, no break (skid) marks. Some cars don't leave them and there wouldn't be any once he was on the grass. More info will come out about the accident in time, but everyone agrees he was majorly speeding (probably because he was running 30 minutes late). On that stretch of road, which is super dangerous, that would be more than enough.

Oh, and 100% the hospital ran a tox screen before surgery. If the police get PC, they'll be able to find out. Tiger could also, if he wished, ask the hospital to release the results.

My guess is that they will show a standard therapeutic dose of pain meds (recent back surgery post-which he hadn't yet been cleared for golf activity and racing around doing press/charity work = taking pain meds). I bet it wasn't more than he was prescribed, but of course any pain meds can dull your reaction time. It's still legal to drive on them for most prescribed drugs/in most locations. So I bet the blood tests would just give people more ammunition for his fault or not depending on what they went in thinking. My view is it probably played a contributory role in the crash, because of the dulled reaction time, but probably was not the major cause.

You people who think an addict is using the "proper dose" are hilarious. Seriously.

It’s obvious he was at fault for the accident. He has been receiving craploads of special treatment since the accident occurred. Dude needs his license taken away. His driving record is abysmal.

Have anyone heard what his condition is these days? Is he able to walk?

I thought only old people can mix up the pedals. This is scary.
The captain of the Lomita Sheriff’s Station, James Powers, said that data was obtained from the vehicle’s event data recorder, known colloquially as the black box. The data showed that Woods had hit the accelerator throughout the crash, and that the pressure applied to the pedal was 99 percent. Powers said he believed that Woods inadvertently hit the accelerator while trying to brake.

This can happen to anyone really. I'm 35 and a pretty safe driver and can recall this happening once or twice. Never in a situation that was particularly dangerous but still, people get distracted and make mistakes.

Did you keep holding down the wrong pedal until you drove off the road at 40 mph above the speed limit? That doesn’t happen to everyone, contrary to what you might think.

I would think once you've lost control of the car anyone could press the wrong pedal.
