Metro United having ID Sessions

Who the f care about FCV and what does it matter where they play? You said Stoddert has 3-4 average to above average DA level players per age group. They do not. If they did the club would have better results. Stoddert is a below average to average club in the weak CCL. Arlington and Loudoun easily beat Stoddert. Those two clubs do not play and win the top brackets at major tournaments consistently. There is a whole another level of soccer above Loudoun and Arlington. If you play at Stoddert your kid is not exposed to that level of play.

I really do not know if you are just talking s or really do not know the soccer landscape. Metro is not an established DA club. So they will take players of lesser quality. It’s not very fun driving 3-4 hours one way to New Jersey to get crushed. It’s also not fun to play DA if you are an average to below average player. I hope Metro succeeds. More DA and ECNL clubs means more options, different coaches, different style of play and hopefully less driving time.

I know it sucks the FCV is going downhill. It is not 2015 any more. Go blame Loudoun soccer for your woes not Metro.

Talking about all these team results seems simplistic given the transition year 2008s are going into -- whether it's small sided to full field, or NCSL/CCL/NPL/etc. to more regional and national options like EDP/ECNL/DA. The past results of a particular U12 team are not an indicator, good or bad, of future performance. Of that team/club or of the clubs to which the players from that U12 team go. Not only is the soccer competitive landscape and the soccer itself different, but ALL of these girls are going through puberty, which can have big implications as well.

They have plenty of 08's. The real problem is if they will have enough 06 and 07 players. This past year they could not field an 07 team and that will be required next year. If they don't have enough quality players then the team will have to filled with 08 players and there will not be an 08 team. They are not required to field a team at U13. I'm crossing my fingers for them. I would like to see them succeed.

Considering that with all of the elite options players are more likely to stay where they are. So core players of teams and their past can give a glimpse of their potential. Of course things change.

I would say that argument was valid 12 months ago but not so much now. Once MU added their 3 partner clubs it became pretty easy for them to add players. There will certainly be an U13 and U14 team next year. Hopefully they won't have to resort to play ups on the teams. If you judge by the ID session turn out, the numbers look promising. It will take some time to build the program. However, quality players will want DA level training and games and be willing to commute to practice. I am rooting for them too and would like to see them succeed. It is good to see a new club make strides in establishing themselves. This area needs it.

We drive by an ECNL club to attend a DA team farther away. I guess it just depends on your priorities.
