you are correct BUT will Stoddart parents drive to Reston everyday from DC when real practices start? thats the real question |
| That’s a decent turnout to their ID session. It’s hard to see how it will turn out this early so TBD. If Metro United ends up getting 3-4 solid players from DC Stoddard at each age group that’s probably enough. If they get 3-4 for GFR and even 1-2 from Potomac that’s a core. |
There are people who drive all over town for teams. Will Loudoun parents drive to Springfield for FCV? Yes, many likely will. |
I know of some kids who did it. And there are some players from MD in the older age groups that don't mind either. |
| I don't know about 60 thats a real high number I would say 30 to 40 and between all those age groups meh! |
MU needs to actually fill rosters with appropriate ages first instead of being desperate and having players play 3 ages up because of empty space. Lets see how many 08 they will have or if enough don't sign up will half the team be 09 just because of empty space? GF clearly had a good 09 team I cant wait to see what happens |
They will have more than enough 08’s |
That's the glass half empty picture. On the other hand, the 09 will probably be a standout on a younger team with those GFR 09s next year. |
Stoddert does not have 3-4 solid DA players per age group. Maybe one if they are lucky. If Stoddert had that many DA players they would play and win in the top brackets of major tournaments. |
LOL. DC Stoddert 08 girls are better than FCV's top team. https://youthsoccerrankings.us/rankings/VA/12/Girls/ |
| ^^Is this board really comparing the results of 11 year-old kids? The strength of teams at 11? Come on... |
Please point to the FCV 08 team that is in the top bracket of top tournaments. We’ll wait. |
|
FCV 05 is a very good team.
FCV 06 is a good team but not as good as 05s. FCV 07 is an okay team but not as good as 06s. FCV 08 is a bad team and worse than 07s. FCV 09 is terrible is not competitive at travel soccer. |
Who the f care about FCV and what does it matter where they play? You said Stoddert has 3-4 average to above average DA level players per age group. They do not. If they did the club would have better results. Stoddert is a below average to average club in the weak CCL. Arlington and Loudoun easily beat Stoddert. Those two clubs do not play and win the top brackets at major tournaments consistently. There is a whole another level of soccer above Loudoun and Arlington. If you play at Stoddert your kid is not exposed to that level of play. I really do not know if you are just talking s or really do not know the soccer landscape. Metro is not an established DA club. So they will take players of lesser quality. It’s not very fun driving 3-4 hours one way to New Jersey to get crushed. It’s also not fun to play DA if you are an average to below average player. I hope Metro succeeds. More DA and ECNL clubs means more options, different coaches, different style of play and hopefully less driving time. |
I know it sucks the FCV is going downhill. It is not 2015 any more. Go blame Loudoun soccer for your woes not Metro. |
