McLean lost players to Spirit. How’s spirit doing? How’s McLean doing? Think about it. Spirit is a joke and McLean is going to qualify for nationals. Spirit did get to play one of the few DA’s that are worse than them this weekend though. |

LOL. Last year we are told here by a couple of parents MA is the weakest division in the east, this year we are told by a couple of parents it’s a nationally competitive one (outside of the older girls mostly unaffected by DA). Which group of parents (or club staff) should i believe?

| I’m just enjoying at how the best regional ecnl club was just revealed to us as Arlington. |
Probably none? Will be interesting to see everyone's tune change when spirit DA goes away though. I assume SYC and LMVSC will get better with adding those players. Then we can hear how CCL is the best league and these clubs focus on development and taking care of play-ups. |
| Just curious—who’s coaching McLean 05s this year? Who coached them last year? What other coaching changes have been made there over the past year? |
McLean 05 picked up Arlingtons best players who didn’t want to play DA. |
What this thread should reveal, OP, is that trying to identify the best local development based on infromation at older age groups is irrelevant, at recruiting age groups is irrelevant. That one of the best teams in ECNL in our area at 05 and older is supposedly mostly due to recruits at each successful year, is not a nod towards player development. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but at least recognize it for what it is. The coaches arent irrelevant to success, but lets gove credit where credit is due. |
What? |
Depending on where you live... BRYC, McLean, MD United, Bethesda, VDA. All solid options. |
What? |
So if Loudoun could just score that one more “for a draw” goal against VDA and Mclean, they would be included in your list? Thats basically adding “arlington” players to your roster. |
So no Loudoun? But BRYC, Mclean? for a u14 for next year? Umm. sitting at 7 and 11 in their division? trailing Loudoun at 5 and VDA at 1? |
Clyde Watson, the TD of McLean, coaches the 05 team last year and this year. He should really take 06 next year and try and turn them around! |
Agreed. |
Lol.You wish. He will stay with the recruiting age groups. That's his thing. |
