Just watched something that said her instagram followers increased and that this will help her bc she’s always had a kind of “bad girl” image. Only time will tell I guess. |
I'm a woman and I don't love to hate women. I love to hate entitled people that cheat the system and show no remorse when getting caught. |
Ashlee Simpson just had a reality show on E! for a season. It's not like that's gonna mark some big comeback for Becky. |
I think she'll be back on her Hallmark show in no time. |
Uh huh... and you are spending just as much energy hating the dude who created the entire scam? Or all the fathers named in the indictment? No. You hate “Becky with the good hair”. Think about that. |
No, we hate how she seems to be responding with a lack of shame and humility for her immoral and illegal actions. |
This. This is the entertainment site. The other guys aren’t in entertainment. Plus, this particular post was about Lori. |
Luann de Lesseps wrote a book on class, did this: https://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/videos/luann-de-lesseps-threatens-to-murder-cop-in-this-arrest-video/ She now had a sold out caberet show. Others who bounced back: drew barrymore, Robert Downey, jr, Winona rider, mark wahlberg, Tim Allen, woody Allen, Brian Williams, bill Clinton, |
Sure, but none of them relied on a "good girl" persona to make a living, and none of them willfully committed fraud. Let's look at the women. What is the issue with Drew, that she did drugs and was a little out of control in her 20s? She didn't hurt anyone and she grew up, so who cares. Winona Rider is a better comparison, but her career never did recover (she was an A list movie star and now ?) and people are accepting that mental illness was a factor there. It took her a long time to even begin to get back in the game, and she was an internationally famous Oscar-nominated actress. Martha Stewart is a better example, but most people don't care about white collar crimes like insider trading, which tend to be viewed as "victimless" and she was never thought to be a nice person anyway. Some of the other people you list are total jerks or are guilty of minor infractions, but haven't done anything illegal. Even Woody Allen wasn't convicted of anything, though his career now seems to be over in the wake of "Me Too." It's hard to find a criminal whose former livelihood depended on being thought of as nice and wholesome. For reality stars, being jerks is part of their schtick. But as this thread makes clear, it's her current attitude pissing people off though I don't think more than the crime itself. |
Wow, I didn’t see that; it wasn’t publicized. I just read that the guidance counselor brought up her concerns, but the matter was resolved. |
I've watched some of her videos and she seems more like an air headed shopaholic fashion plate than she does "bad girl". Honestly, she comes across as pretty vapid. Maybe she can ditz her way out of this, who knows. |
Yeah, what little sympathy I had for her evaporated when I read what the husband said to the guidance counselor. They knew what they were doing was wrong and already almost got caught a few times. |
| I have no doubts that LL her husband weren’t 100% in the wrong, I believe it’s not going to be a big deal after 2019. |
Reese Witherspoon completely recovered. |
Reese Witherspoon had one night where she drank too much and mouthed off to the police. She seemed remorseful, or acted remorseful, afterward. She did not commit a years-long fraud that arguably injured others and did not behave as LL and her husband behaved when almost found out. |
