I have no f*cking idea. No one under 70. |
Interesting. I can't picture the over 70 crowd flocking to watch Maddow, |
Tucker lied yesterday about immigrants again.
Again, it's shocking how much this rhetoric mirrors Nazi propaganda.
Tucker Carlson and Fox news are harming America. |
It’s sad to watch this happen in real time. |
We don't owe them anything. |
![]() So true. And isn't PP edgy, pretending no one in his/her cohort watches TV news. |
No, stop watching TV, period. It's all junk. |
The History Channel is good, and TCM has some wonderful old classics. Just saying. |
The idiocy is that immigrants make America great. Immigrants make America more entrepreneurial.
Immigrants start companies. Immigrants fill our universities and do research to develop new drugs. ![]() And at this point, the conserva-lie will be: "but you're focusing on immigrants who go through the normal process". Here's two reasons why the conservative distraction is wrong. (1) Many of our ancestors were immigrants who came a century ago, when the equivalent of today's GOP demonized poor Italian and Irish immigrants -- i.e. literal "America First" conservative groups demonized legal immigrants too for political advantage. It's not about the process, it's about xenophobic tribalism to get votes. (2) The reason smart creative legal immigrants want to come to America is our multicultural society which makes them feel welcome. The GOP's xenophobia is chasing those people away too. (3: extra) Stephen Miller wants to cut legal immigration. Bottom line: Tucker Carlson demonizes immigrants, to get poor gullible white people to vote for his boss Rupert Murdoch's pro-billionaire policies. Without Tucker's hate, almost no one would vote for tax cuts for Murdoch. It's not about immigrants. It's about billionaires. |
"Tonight, Tucker Carlson tripled-down on his comments calling immigrants "poorer and dirtier"'
https://twitter.com/JordanUhl/status/1075561551493545984 Screw that guy on Fox. Go pound sand, racist and hate-spewer. My f'ing grandparents were poor immigrants who came to America to work "poor, dirty" jobs. Their grandkids have been successful in life through hard work. This motherf'er on Fox grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth and he has the b*lls to demean my immigrant ancestors? Get off the air. |
They should adopt a few border miles an go shovel the poop and pick up all the trash themselves. |
Are you still contacting legal immigrants and illegal immigrants? |
Conflating |
NP.
My grandparents were LEGAL immigrants, although dirt-poor and uneducated. Their kids (my uncles/aunts/parents) all graduated from college - some had grad degrees - and were tax-paying engineers, teachers, and one a nurse. Drop down to my generation of cousins and siblings, and we have doctors, lawyers, pharmacists, senior corporate managers, and two college professors. Could it be that people who obey the laws - those who apply legally - recognize that success and achievement take discipline, a willingness to follow rules, and an ability to tolerate delayed gratification and thus have passed those values onto their kids? And the ones who "jump the line," climb the fence, whatever, in violation of laws, have more of a "tske, take, tske" entitlement attitude, and the rules don't apply to ME, and thus pass those values on to their kids? In other words, have legal immigrants essentially been pre-screened for the values that make them more likely to succeed? |
Where are we at with Tucker calling immigrants “dirty”. Any GOP come out against that? Any of the rightwing big money donors? |
