How do you know what she means by massive demographic changes? Maybe she means the effort to import millions and millions of poor, uneducated people and it has nothing to do with race. (Remember, the illegal immigrants forcing their way into this country average a 10th grade education.) |
My disdain is for people who are suckered by the likes of Ingraham, Hannity, and the rest of the Fox crew. Are you honestly not troubled by someone who expresses such dislike for immigrants -- even legal immigrants -- adopting an immigrant baby? Honestly, that is not something I feel like praising. I would be rather worried about that baby. |
She doesn't leave too much up to interpretation. But by all means, interpret away. https://www.theguardian.com/media/2018/aug/09/laura-ingraham-fox-news-attacks-immigrants |
I'll start reading The Guardian when you start watching FOX. |
Oh, now who is defending racists? Double standard, double standard. If she said white people were destroying America, you would be outraged. Immigrants to the US have always been poor and uneducated. That has been the complaint about every single large group of immigrants. It was said about the Irish and about the Italians. Even Trump's own grandfather was a poor uneducated immigrant. |
Okay. Same words different source. https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/laura-ingraham-fox-news-immigration-comments-criticism-advertiser-boycott-2018-8-1027447658 |

How many Guatemalan children have you adopted, Jeff?
|
I assume the same number as you. Do I win a prize? |
If you are going to turn around and disparage their existence in this country for ratings, what difference does it make? |
Yes, I agree, but in the past we did not have such a welfare state and trillions of dollars in debt. People used to move to the US to work and make a better life for their family, and did not expect to be handed a better life through government programs for housing, food, healthcare, education, free phones, free internet, etc... Do I think Hispanics are some of the hardest workers in the US,? Absolutely. Do I think millions and millions of illegal immigrants are depressing real wages, crowding our schools, overburdening our resources, and at least for a generation are a burden on taxpayers, yes. A nation cannot have open borders when it also has overly generous government programs and trillions in debt. I'd rather take care of Americas's poor first and the US's crumbling infrastructure than to help the worlds poor. |
What's your take on the latest Ohr/Steele/FBI information? Are you going on record that Ingraham might be abusing her kids because they are brown? |
|
Instead of reading the Guardian’s interpretation, why not watch her monologue? http://video.foxnews.com/v/5819792860001/?playlist_id=5622526903001#sp=show-clips The Guardian has taken a snippet from an 11 minute segment and left out the context of her comments. If you had watched her segment, you would see that she spent that next 10 minutes of her monologue pointing out the crime that illegals (and some who are here legally) commit against citizens in the country. Murder, rape, etc. She finished by saying that what is “slipping away” is not about race or ethnicity, but the common understanding that American citizenship is a privilege. |
I don't see a connection between Ohr/Steele and the FBI to this thread. I think there is a justified concern that someone who believes immigrants are destroying America might not be the best parent for an immigrant baby. Whether that will lead to abuse, I don't know. But it certainly suggests the potential for problems. |
The crime rate among immigrants, both legal and illegal, is lower than that of non-immigrant Americans. It's just a reiteration of Trump's "Mexico is sending rapists". And, again, this is just how previous groups of immigrants were criticized. Immigrant groups have always been attacked for bringing crime to this country. |
