The government is twisting itself in knots and likely going to shut down and furlough 800k+ people who are NOT guaranteed backpay so that 800k illegals have a permanent solution for staying here -- how about some gratitude? I don't care when or why they were brought here honestly. They will benefit from getting to stay permanently and have already benefited in many ways already -- like a free k-12 education in their local public school. Do they not think that there are millions of people in the world who want that and get denied routinely? You are typing this without understanding, this has been happening for years, you know, when the GOP was the minority party on the hill and even worse, when it was the majority party with an Executive from the other party. The GOP torpedoed decent health care solutions and an immigration bill that would have addressed many of the issues on the table today.

But all the things they (GOP) did -- they did for the benefit of Americans (whether you agree with the positions or not). What gets me is that Dems are doing this to benefit ILLEGALS -- i.e. NOT Americans, NOT people who are entitled to be here. If we can work out some solution for them, fine. What exactly were your parents running across the border for -- was education NOT one of those things? Seriously - amnesty? Just give them freaking permanent work permits and be done with it. Do we really need them to have a path to citizenship so they can be sponsoring long lost relatives to come over the day after they're citizens? And I can't imagine the stats are any different for them vs. American populations -- the less education you have, the more likely you are to get pregnant young; if you're an unwed/teen mom, your kid's chances of being an unwed teen mom is way higher and chance of going to college is way lower. Great. This is decades/generations of cost in a country that already has 300 mil of its own citizens to deal with . . . .
