So GOP: are you going to deport 3.6 million people at gun point? Raid their homes and businesses, churches and schools?

You would need cattle cars to get that many people out of the country.

Is this the U.S. you want?

3.6 million people. How does the GOP propose dealing with this?

OMG. You people are unbelievable with your histrionics. Get a grip.

Really, concern for uninsured americans is histrionics? But a Mexican crosses the border and gets in a car accident, and it's all over right wing media.

Hmm. I don't believe the picture above depicts uninsured Americans. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yep--another amnesty bill that means we will be back here again in a few. Sacrificing American citizens for Dreamers. We need to help the Dreamers--but Durbin's bill did nothingn to ensure security on the border. It was peanuts--and it did not provide closing of the loopholes that prevent border agents from doing their jobs properly.

Your “us verses them” garbage doesn’t work. Grow up and recognize you live in a society.

What on earth are PP talking about “Hispanic lobby”?!

Oh, that was a good one, PP!

Truth hurts when your party are a bunch of doormats to Russia yet still can’t get anything done.

Are you going to put them into railroad cars yourself? 3.6m Dreamers is a lot to transport across the border.

HINT: The people in this picture ARE NOT DREAMERS. How do you not get that? "3.6 million" is completely misleading. Only 800K applied and *qualified* for DACA, as the first PP above already said. I agree that those 800K should be allowed to stay. And that's it. Don't cry about all the other illegals here for whom DACA would not apply. They are here illegally.

Any other country would be perfectly within their rights to expel illegal immigrants. And we are also well within ours to do so.

Excellent point PP. The GOP is incapable of governing. They are great as an obstructionist minority party, but fail miserably when in charge.

It’s just stupid to deport a farther and leave his American family on welfare. But some people have no heart.

Only extremely stupid people fall for this bs, and by saying “extremely stupid people”, I am referring to liberals

They don’t have enough votes. Dems are tying to tie DACA to the budget when it should be a separate issue. Democrats aren’t interested in a budget, they were operating for years under Obama without one. So the Democrats hatred of Trump and the GOP is more important than the American people

shut it down dems. hold the line!

You are typing this without understanding, this has been happening for years, you know, when the GOP was the minority party on the hill and even worse, when it was the majority party with an Executive from the other party. So please, spare the BS. The GOP stole a supreme court seat and hundreds of judicial appointments. The GOP torpedoed decent health care solutions and an immigration bill that would have addressed many of the issues on the table today.

Did you read the linked USA Today article? There are 3.6m Dreamers in the United States - far more than previously understood. DACA only covers people of a certain age brought over in a certain time period who registered.

The dad recently deported from Michigan is a Dreamer - he was brought to the United States by his parents one year too early to qualify for DACA. He's a Dreamer, just like the DACA kids:

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/16/us/man-deported-jorge-garcia.html

AGAIN: HOW ARE YOU GOING TO DEPORT 3.6 MILLION DREAMERS? THAT'S A LOT OF CATTLE CARS.

And no I don’t particularly care that they were brought as kids etc. But even if we were to work it out for them, now they want protections for their parents. GTFO. Why not protections for all their illegal aunts and 75 cousins each as well?

THIS. While I'm sympathetic to the plight of the Dreamers, and I hope that something is worked out to enable them to legally stay in the country, that's as far as my patience goes. Enough. And the aggressive way they're demanding to stay here is pretty off-putting. Stunts like this one, for instance, aren't doing them any favors.
http://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2017/09/19/pelosi-dreamers-protest-over-daca-meade.hln/video/playlists/daca-decision/

THIS. The government is twisting itself in knots and likely going to shut down and furlough 800k+ people who are NOT guaranteed backpay so that 800k illegals have a permanent solution for staying here -- how about some gratitude? I don't care when or why they were brought here honestly. They will benefit from getting to stay permanently and have already benefited in many ways already -- like a free k-12 education in their local public school. Do they not think that there are millions of people in the world who want that and get denied routinely? That dude in China or India goes in for an interview at the embassy when he applies for a visa -- if the consular officer thinks his major in underwater petroleum engineering is unmarketable and he could become a drain on society; or gets the hint he's seeking a visa so that in 10 years he can bring in 12 more members of his family; or the consular officer is having a bad day and wants to deny the guy bc he's ugly -- gets what, he's denied and that's the end of the discussion. Meanwhile, these people waltzed across the border and live like they are entitled to be here and how dare anyone say otherwise. They and their supporters are entitled and obnoxious -- it's off putting.

+1000. They know they don't have the votes for DACA otherwise and God forbid we don't help out the illegals. So all they can do is tie it to the budget and hope to coerce their immigration plan that way. I'm a fed -- if I don't get paid at the end of this debacle, I will forever view Dems as the party that chose illegals over native born (or lawfully naturalized) US citizens who work for the freaking government -- where you take an oath to protect the country/constitution.
