I think it’s ridiculous to shut down the govt and furlough 800k+ fed employees who are citizens and likely US born in favor of 800k illegals. And no I don’t particularly care that they were brought as kids etc. But even if we were to work it out for them, now they want protections for their parents. GTFO. Why not protections for all their illegal aunts and 75 cousins each as well?
THIS. While I'm sympathetic to the plight of the Dreamers, and I hope that something is worked out to enable them to legally stay in the country, that's as far as my patience goes. Enough. And the aggressive way they're demanding to stay here is pretty off-putting. Stunts like this one, for instance, aren't doing them any favors. http://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2017/09/19/pelosi-dreamers-protest-over-daca-meade.hln/video/playlists/daca-decision/
THIS. The government is twisting itself in knots and likely going to shut down and furlough 800k+ people who are NOT guaranteed backpay so that 800k illegals have a permanent solution for staying here -- how about some gratitude? I don't care when or why they were brought here honestly. They will benefit from getting to stay permanently and have already benefited in many ways already -- like a free k-12 education in their local public school. Do they not think that there are millions of people in the world who want that and get denied routinely? That dude in China or India goes in for an interview at the embassy when he applies for a visa -- if the consular officer thinks his major in underwater petroleum engineering is unmarketable and he could become a drain on society; or gets the hint he's seeking a visa so that in 10 years he can bring in 12 more members of his family; or the consular officer is having a bad day and wants to deny the guy bc he's ugly -- gets what, he's denied and that's the end of the discussion. Meanwhile, these people waltzed across the border and live like they are entitled to be here and how dare anyone say otherwise. They and their supporters are entitled and obnoxious -- it's off putting.
Agree. And the way they disrespected Pelosi - like the spoiled, entitled brats they are - and now Pelosi & Co. are willing to (possibly) hurt the liVelihoods of nearly 1 million people in favor of them?
THIS. And I am NOT buying that -- oh they are ALL college grads who are teachers helping humanity or serving the country or at West Point or med school. Give me a freaking break. Those are just the only ones that their advocates want to highlight. Only about 60% of Americans go to college and I have zero reason to believe that this population has a higher % of college grads.
