Be honest - how often do you bathe your kids?

"The same people who..." I love these posts. I never knew how easily it was to classify people into types based on seemingly random assortments of habits..

Actually, I bathe my kids almost every night but I wash my kitchen floor only once every couple of months. Can't IMAGINE having the time to mop it every night, or even twice a week. Anyone else JUST LIKE ME????? You know, the kind who bathe their kids every night, mop the kitchen floor every couple of months, support breastfeeding in public if done discreetly, prefer sleeping in to running, aren't sure what kind of idiot posted on the thread about UVA students? That kind? My kind? You out there?

You only mop your kitchen floors once every couple of months? How gross!

Oh, you'll LOVE me. I have never, in the over 10 years I've lived in my house, mopped the kitchen floor.

I do vacuum about every other day, and wipe up any spills immediately, and since it's rather small, I sometimes do a swiffer. Maybe 3 times a year (although now I have a cleaning person who probably does it once a month, although I don't ask, because I don't care).

And I bathe myself and my kids every single day.

I heart you.

Why mop the kitchen floor so often? I cook and I don't make a mess. I don't prepare any food on the floor. I am much more worried about my foyer and living room floor than my kitchen. Ugh, and the bathroom where the men pee and miss the toilet.

I bathe ds, 3, 2-3 times a week. He's gone as long as 5 days, but I'm not proud of it.

I'm wondering if bathing really helps in stopping the spread of flu/illness. It seems to me that it wouldn't, but I'm not a scientist. Anyone?

We bathe DC every night. Like the PP said, it takes more time to fill the tub than the time it takes to wash. For us, it's easier to wash the food off DC's face, neck and other spots in the tub rather than while DC is fully clothed.

believe it or not, we usually bathe our 5- and 7-year olds approx. once a week - they don't usually play in the mud and generally stay clean.

The reason - we have better things to do - during the school year by the time we get done with homework, piano, playing they are exhausted and it's just too late. I think bathing every day is way too often - you must just have extra time on your hands.

P.S. I don't wash my kitchen floor very often either...

Yes, anyone who thinks even mildly differently from the pack is high suspicious. Highly suspicious. Actually, maybe you are the one who needs the tin foil hat, not what I think about it.

You said you were radically different, not mildly. Big difference. Avoiding the pediatricians because you think you know more than they do is just stupid. I'm all for healthy questioning of medical advice, but thinking pediatricians are clueless about things as commonplace as chemicals in sunscreens is just completely condescending and misguided.

Reminds me of the joke about the barefoot farmer. The city slicker looks down at his muddy feet and says, I see you've been cleaning out the barn. The farmer says, "No, that was last week. Why?" (Or something....)

I'm a different PP from the one who said she was "radically different."

What about the waste of water (sorry, can't read all the posts so maybe it's been raised). Seriously ... wasting water for something that's just part of a bedtime routine ... ?!

How much water do you use when you wash your hands?
