Honestly, I did...and it's a very good point. I still thought the comment was funny. There's still a huge difference between traveling for CCL vs ECNL. Traveling 2-3 times per year to other parts of VA vs traveling several times a season to other states is quite different. The girls that play at BRYC are very good and should do well playing against other teams of their caliber. But if you're in the bottom of ECNL (like McLean), then how's all that travel a good thing? I will agree that the CCL needs to tighten things up and fix this issues that result in teams only having to play 1-2 challenging teams per year (or in another age group, losing almost every game). |

Thanks! Is Maryland Rush Montgomery one of the big clubs too? I've seen them mentioned here but am not familiar. |

12:58 - we did consider ADP (and tried out and got in), but my daughter wanted to stay on her rec team in addition to travel/ADP. Rec and ADP both play games on Saturdays, so we would have had more conflicts. With Saturday vs. Sunday games, we've only had one conflict this year.
Would have probably done ADP otherwise. I did think 2nd grade was too young for travel, but it seemed like it would be easier to get in at the first opportunity than to try to compete for limited open slots later on. This year when she tries out, she'll at least know what the coaches are looking for, and she'll have a year of travel under her belt, vs. just another year of rec. |
Premier AC (PAC) tryouts, in which those trying out basically hop into practice with the existing players ...
May 15-18, 22-25 and June 5-8. I think you need to attend three of the possible six dates. They're on turf, so they shouldn't be rained out. GIRLS Falls Church High School 2009-2005: 5-6:30 p.m. 2004-older: 6:30-8 p.m. BOYS Luther Jackson Middle School 2009-2005: 5-6:30 p.m. 2004-2003: 6:30-8 p.m. Falls Church High School 2002-older: 6-7:30 p.m. Get there a little early to check in. Wear an expendable white T-shirt -- they'll write a number on it (or pin it on, in some cases). Site is http://premierac.org/News.asp?org=PREMIERAC.ORG#481921 |

Are there any travel programs for 5-year-olds? My kid's rec team just isn't cutting it, and we don't have travel yet at that age. |
