RHONY Season 9

Bethenny Ever After. 3 seasons. Was popular. And RHONY ratings were in the shitter and her return got them back up. I get it that some people don't like her but obviously some people DO want to watch her on television.

That was long ago and clearly not that popular; didn't even remember it. And it was a Bethenny of another era, when she still had some appeal and people were interested in her life.

Quite popular, in fact. "The series premiered on June 10, 2010 as Bethenny Getting Married and became Bravo's highest rated series premiere in the network's history . . . "

Bethenney, don't you have an empire to run?

Jason, we still know it's you even when you spell her name wrong.

I'm not impressed with a high rated series premiere. Popularity is about staying power. I imagine lots of people turned it out of curiosity and never came back.

This season feels really, really awkward. They should have done more of a cast overhaul.

I think this is a big part of what makes her so unappealing. She's not interesting/likable for her own show, so why not get paid to disparage everyone else? She's also there to prop up Carole, but I'd be happy if they both left the show.

But she had her own show that got good ratings. And they just gave her a spinoff with the real estate guy...

I'm not Bethenny's biggest fan, but if they did a poll about who became the biggest success because of the Housewives shows, she would win running away.

I'd look at it another way.....who was a self made success BEFORE the series? As far as I can tell it is only Betheny. The rest did a nice job of marrying. That's why I always cut her some slack......and don't forget while the rest of these bimbos are day drinking, she's actually working.

LuAnn put HERSELF on track for her success by moving out of Connecticut (where she was a nurse) and getting a modeling contract, living in Italy and becoming a television host. She taught herself French and Italian and met the count at a dinner party, where she charmed him and they got married after something like five dates. She didn't just wake up in Connecticut one morning and marry a count.

The women are vapid and shallow, but it can be interesting and amusing to watch their lives, even if it's just for schadenfreude. But Bethenny takes it to another level. It's not fun watching a deeply troubled person lash out at others and take no responsibility for her actions, AND have no comeuppance or "justice" come of it. She's got an in with Bravo now as a producer so she gets special treatment.

You have just described most of the cast of every housewife show.

Your ax to grind specifically with Bethenny is odd. What justice is she supposed to serve exactly? Is she supposed to go to Housewives prison?

Oh please, come back from the edge. Don't take it so personally just because I don't like Bethenny. Sounds like you care a lot more than I do, actually.

You are so wrong.

-Ramona built her OWN retail company--buying clothing at steep discount and selling to retailers like TJ Maxx and Marshalls. And she helped her husband with his religious artifacts business, etc. She made a LOT of money on her own before she married and before the show.

-Kelly Bensimon--very successful model BEFORE she met and married Gilles Bensimon. She also has published a successful novel and is working on a second.

-Carole Radziwill--went from small-town upstate New York to being an intern for NBC Nightly News, then working her way up the ranks to producer/journalist. Won an Emmy for a piece she did in Cambodia. THEN married her famous husband, and writing a truly phenomenal, NYT-bestselling memoir. THEN she was a Housewife.

-LuAnn--small-town Connecticut to modeling career, then was a TV host in Italy, and THEN met the count and got married and was a Housewife.

-Heather Thompson--very successful with helping celebs launch their clothing lines, then founded Yummie Tummie--before becoming a Housewife

-Cindy Barshop--founder of hugely successful salons and related retail enterprises, BEFORE she was a Housewife

You're calling someone you don't know who you've seen on television deeply troubled. I'm with the PP. It's a lot.

This makes me laugh. The bar is so low for women. Wow, she was a model and a TV host and then charmed a rich guy into marrying her???? How original. She's totally self-made.

Stop caring so much about people on tv.

No one will ever ask you to be on TV or write a book.

Meh, I haven't heard of half of those people and their accomplishments, if that's what you want to call them, seem fairly trivial. But I don't care so please don't respond.

The Bethenny hate is so over the top that I really think Jason might have people trolling the internet.
