The Affair Season3

Agree, Jennifer Esposito is fantastic. I never knew she was such a good actress.

Sundays episode was better, thanks goodness! At least there is some progress in the storyline. The last few episodes have sucked.

I don't like how they are explicitly stating all the feelings. It feels like a poorly written telenovela at this point

The show has gone totally off the rails this season. How did they take such a great show and make it so awful

I dislike the two opposing views more and more. Meaning how they split the show between one character's experience vs the other's. There's no way that they both have such a different opinion on what happened or what was said. I'm noticing more and more that there's a huge difference.

Agreed. At the beginning it was more subtle- Allison thought she was being demure and Noah thought she was being flirty and coming on to him. That seems fairly accurate.

But why on earth would Allison remember bringing a muffin and Cole thought she brought donuts? Huh? Unless one of them has a serious mental issue that kind of discrepancy should not be happening. It's really strange

Poor Luisa. I want her to leave Cole and find someone who isn't hung up on a crazy ex.

I'd like to see Joshua Jackson in something new. He was great in FRINGE and he's under used in this bollox.

+1. Plus the conversations they have are so different. Subtle differences would be fine but it almost comes across as a mental illness by one of the characters. Maybe that's what they are doing for?

Alison is crazy cakes but look at all the other things Cole couldn't let go of, no matter how hopeless and broken they were. He's driven by something way deeper than his penis, and he's more connected to her than he'll ever be to Luisa.

Exactly. Some people seem to be expecting a hallmark movie

This is about dysfunctional love, messed up people and relationships. Anna Karenina type stuff

Take your "why can't Cole just find a nice girl" and shove it

NP, I don't disagree but....why can't Cole just find *me*? LOL

I liked last episode best. I thought this one was kind of boring, esp Helen's

It WAS boring. Also I'm having trouble seeing Vik as having been with Helen for 4 years. Its such a recently introduced and completely undeveloped story arc. Sloppy TV writing.

Totally. And when she met him he seemed like kind of a dick, which seemed to be accurate, to this single, successful doctor in NYC and then he mets Helen, who is hot, but has this crazy family/ husband situation. Now he's like the perfect boyfriend, an absolute martyr. It's turned into a real cliche

I never saw Vic that way. There was that episode last season where Helen says she can't figure out if he is a nice guy who acts like a dick or a dick who acts like a nice guy. And he asks her if it matters. I think the point was: what matters (to Vic) is how you treat people. It doesn't matter if he treats her well because he's a nice guy or because he's just *acting* like a nice guy. What matters is how he treats her.

It totally makes sense that he would be a good guy--it's what he wants to be.

Its all horrible really. Each woman fits into a classic cliche : Shrews (Helen & Louisa), whores (Allison & French lady and her students), doormats (Esposito and Helen's mom).

And that wasn't the first rape we've seen. Season 1 - Noah's perspective of the sex Allison and Cole have outside their house against the car.

And Jennifer Esposito is so wasted in this show. She should be a lead character.

What, what? Why are Juliette and her students "whores?" Why is Nina a doormat?

For that matter, why is Allison a "whore" but Noah isn't? Why is Helen's mother a doormat, but not Cole--who would have taken back Allison at any time, regardless of how she has treated him?
