The Affair Season3

Ugh, I used to love The Affair, but after watching the first 2 boring episodes of season 3, I could never get back into it. Thanks everyone for convincing me not to finish watching the 3rd season. I couldn't stand the addition of Juliette. I watch to see mainly Cole. Maybe it should just have stuck to 2 seasons and ended with Noah going to jail.

For the people talking about misogyny. It seems to go both ways. When Juliette meets her two colleagues on the street there's a whole conversation which does not appear to have been subtitled. The colleagues verify that Noah doesn't speak French then the three of them discuss Noah's penis and if he's good in bed.

I had the same question and then figured Showtime must be test marketing her for another Showtime series. Otherwise, she was pointless and expensive to include in the series. Writers pretty much closed the doors on her storyline so I'm hoping she won't be returning to season 4.

The first half of the season finale was mind numbing to watch. It was all I need French and subtitled. Extremely disappointing. Did they have new writers this season?

They do have the whole wishing for a loved one to die guilt that helps them bond.

OMG THAT WAS THE SEASON FINALE??!! Horrible...

I agree. Was very anticlimactic for a finale. What even happened? Noah suddenly got over his psychosis and he's now in love with the French chick?

What horrible, strange finale. I hope they can save this sinking ship of a show.

One thing I find really annoying about The Affair is the everyone always overestimates how into them the other person is. I could see that with egomaniac Noah but in my experience most people UNDERESTIMATE how into them the other person is. Like I feel like most of the time when I've had disagreements with people I was dating it was more along the lines of I THOUGHT I was acting really into them but I did something- pull away my hand too early, distracted during conversation, etc- that made them think otherwise. And every time I have freaked out on a guy and wanted to end things it's been for a similar reason. And yet people on the affair seem to be the opposite- their point of view always involves them being less into the person and the person being MORE into them

And this from Noah's perspective, who doesn't even understand French, and is probably supposed to show male anxieties of what women talk about when discussing a male.
