It WAS boring. Also I'm having trouble seeing Vik as having been with Helen for 4 years. Its such a recently introduced and completely undeveloped story arc. Sloppy TV writing.[/quote]

And when she met him he seemed like kind of a dick, which seemed to be accurate, to this single, successful doctor in NYC and then he mets Helen, who is hot, but has this crazy family/ husband situation.  Now he's like the perfect boyfriend, an absolute martyr.  It's turned into a real cliche  [/quote]

I never saw Vic that way. There was that episode last season where Helen says she can't figure out if he is a nice guy who acts like a dick or a dick who acts like a nice guy. And he asks her if it matters. I think the point was: what matters (to Vic) is how you treat people. It doesn't matter if he treats her well because he's a nice guy or because he's just *acting* like a nice guy. What matters is how he treats her.

It totally makes sense that he would be a good guy--it's what he wants to be. [/quote]
