Only the one recipe (the one that uses different meat on the bone) looks like it would cost any kind of money to make actually. It also doesn't sound much like lasagna either. |
One lb of ground beef won't make a large tray. You need at least 50% more ingredients. ONE egg? How many people are you feeding, four? |
I said CLOSER to $8 than $80. It was, and is, an accurate statement. |
Thus, it's very expensive. |
So double the meat and add an egg for a whoppin' $8.90. |
+1 Also, I personally, and i am not the poster who originally posted about the $80 lasagna, but I only use bufalo mozzarella. If you want to use REAL parmesan, that is significantly more expensive than the fake American stuff (you could never buy it for $6) with all the accordant health benefits of being made in Parma Italy with centuries old techniques and grass fed cows. To me, it's 100% worth it to spend extra for the better taste, texture, and health. You also didn't add in fresh basil, which I always add to my lasagnas. |
Typo - A whoppin' $8.30 more. |
You are nuts. You think that people eat a quarter pound of beef in a lasagna serving? That could make lasagna for 12. |
I think for a large batch you need to double ALL the ingredients. |
And you're not doubling up on the ricotta cheese, sauce, or anything else?
Man, there are some clueless cooks on this thread. |
4oz isn't much, plus do you only make just enough Food? |
Well, I grow my own tomatoes and basil so I would have homemade sauce (better than anything you can find at the store) in my el cheapo lasagna. |
That's why their food tastes like crap. |
I don't. Maybe if you live on a cow farm. |
The rest of us were on our best behavior PP. This cousin has always been "interesting" stolen from some of us. We all know to lock up the valuables when she comes. I guess we now have to be on hump watch too. |
