You did not. And if you spent that much AND are that much of a bean-counter, then chances are you live well outside your means and have tons of credit card debt.

I often spend that much on a holiday meal.
We spend $400 on alcohol alone.

The champagne alone cost us $250

Needing two people to put the baby to bed - you deserve being robbed of leftovers

Wow - you're all sounding really grumpy.

Relax. You've got to last until Christmas

Wow, how many people do you invite?

But that because I'm buying red wine, white wine, beer, brandy, cognac, whiskey, vodka, baileys. I would die if someone asked for something and I didn't have it.

Oh but would you die?

How about a nice, moderate meal and donate to charity? That much money for one meal is gross.

Seriously, PP, who are you to judge other PP on how much she spends on her own party? Do you always judge others like this? PP can spend HER money the way she wants to (and I'm pretty sure she is a generous donor somewhere. She obviously cares to be generous to those invited to her home, and I bet she has an altruistic heart.)

Did the guests drink all of that champagne?

Hmmmm - Not the poster you are responding to. But wow. You should definitely let your husband handle the baby for a while.

You can get a decent bottle of champagne from Costco for around $10. How much did you spend per bottle? $250 for 20 guests seems high for champagne.

That sounds awful, PP. Did they leave you anything? You prepared the meal and they split up the leftovers?
