News to me that 2.5% of our country goes to harvard.

Harvard last year admitted 2,000 kids out of 37,000 applicants.
LAMB last year admitted around 40+ kids out of 850 applicants.

Both com to approximately a 5% chance.
More people go to Harvard and LAMB than win Powerball.

Lamb only accepted 27/850 or so for pk3 and 3 or so for pk4. Just so everyone is on the same page, even though DD was accepted, it had nothing to do with my amazing parenting skills (don't tell my inlaws).

And it also bothers me when people act like they did something to get their kid in. My neighbor sends his son to Latin PCS. As a JOKE, I congratulated him on "being such a wonderful parent you got your kids into such great schools". Without missing a beat he said "well it did take research and I do think I'm an excellent parent and Latin is a part of that." I just rolled my eyes and walked off.

you sound like a real peach of a neighbor and also someone who has not idea how to make a joke.

You sound like you need some coffee. And trust me - he was not joking. Since that day he loves to go on and on about the "great commitment" he makes driving his kid there (it isn't far) and how he handles the educational stuff which is why the kids have always gone to great schools.

The solution is more boutique charter schools.

It really used to happen. Just like granite counter tops used to be stylish. Times change. Don't dwell, just move on.

NP here. What's in now? Please enlightened me.

Marble and quartz that looks like marble. It's everywhere!

Nah that's very 2014. I think granite is still in but it largely depends on the TYPE of granite. Marble stains like nothing else. Strongly advise staying away despite its total beauty.

It is strange that no one has heard yet (or at least posted about it)!

Also strange that no one has called and asked if they've made notification calls yet.

Instructions for Dealing with the Great LAMB Lottery Results Wait of 2016:

1. Assume/realize you did not get in. Most people don't.
2. Meditate, take deep breaths, go out for a walk on this gorgeous spring day. Relax.
3. Look at the complete lottery list posted tomorrow (that's right, just one more day) to see where little Johnny Snowflake ended up.

Throughout this difficult process, it is recommended you NOT:

1. Harass the poor admin at LAMB.
2. Post 100x a day to DCUM demanding information that clearly no one has.

Thank you. Signed, parent who also didn't get in.

My friend's kid got in - PS3.

Maybe no one has heard yet because they are one of the many who didn't get in.

With LAMB's spring break starting after COB Friday, the plan was probably always to release the results on Friday. That's fine; however, the admin should have just said results will be released on Friday.

Sounds like results have already been released - that those who got in have been notified.

Or even that most of the children who 'won' in the lottery this year were from native Spanish speaking families who aren't on DCUM.

LAMB said the wait list would be released by Friday; those results are what I was referring to.

My above statement was not accurate. LAMB said the results would be on the website by Friday. As I did not receive a call on Monday, my only interest is the wait list.
