We have an Au Pair.
$8,000 yr / agency fee $195.75 week / stipend to au pair $30 month / iphone (her portion of our $200 bill, we pay it) ??? Room & Board (I don't even want to calculate this) We also pay for a third vehicle and insurance, gas, etc. so she has a dedicated car. It's not bad in the grand scheme of things. We've had 4 APs so far. |
I also have one infant and one pre-schooler in the same center and pay $1,684 total per month |
|
800- AP weekly stipend
600- part time preschool 650- monthly percentage of annual AP fee 2050 for two preschoolers. Misc Au pair costs - car, insurance, full data phone, gas, food, etc, I'd say adds another 800-1000. |

Starting in September, we will be paying approximately $3750 per month. In two years, that may double.

Burbs, obviously. Where? |
|
$2100.
$1600 nanny share; $600 preschool AM only program. Nanny also takes care of older school age sibling for about 2.5 hours pre and post ES plus covers random school closures for the older child. |
That's a cheap nannyshare! $17/hr? (assuming only a 40 hr/week). For 2 kids + a quarter day of one kid? |
| Curious- those who nanny share- how did you find out about it? |
|
We have an au pair.
$195.75 per week $8,000 agency fee divided by 6 monthly installments We also pay for her iphone and data plan, meals, gas, a dedicated vehicle (one year old, but not "fancy"), insurance, $500/yr college class contribution, vacations, etc. I have no sense of what the "true" monthly amount is. |
|
Currently 2800$ a month for 2 kids with a nanny (6 months old and 2.5 year old, 15$ an hour but in a nanny share, the nanny accepted to take care of our new baby on top of the 2 kids as an 5 months transition plan).
Starting in September it will be 3200: 1 baby stays in nanny share (11$ an hour/1800) other kid to full time preschool (1400$). And we will be eaiting pasta and not saving for retirement for a full year until baby 2 goes to day care too... |
very easily on our neighborhood listserve (search yahoo group with the name of your neighborhood if you don't know any listserve). We live in Takoma Park, it seems like someone is looking for a new nanny share every week, plenty of choices.. |
| 1 kid Arlington $300/week. |
