| How much do you pay for your nanny, daycare center, babysitters, etc every month? How many kids and what ages? |
| about 3900/mo for daycare in bethesda. 2 kids, 3 and 1. |
| Daycare (part of a private school), one child is $1,650/month. |
holy shit that's expensive, we have a nanny and preschool and it comes to 100 more than that. |
| 3 kids in daycare (well one in "preschool" and then after care) and its 3,900.00 a month. We tried the nanny route but this works better for us. (Kids prefer being in daycare setting, daycare is in my building, prefer how daycares are open everyday vs nanny who needs (and deserves) vaca and sick days). |
we're in mclean |
| 3850/month for nanny and preschool for 6 hours/week. One 2.5 year old, one almost 1 year old. |
PP here - this doesn't include any extra babysitting - just regular working hours. So if we want to do anything ever as a couple (no family in the area) we pay more in addition to this. |
| $3230 for 2 kids in daycare. |
| Christ - well I guess I won't be having kids anytime soon. So is there a credit or deduction for childcare expenses? If so, is it actually helpful or is the amount negligible (or phase out with income or whatever)? |
Pretty much nil. I think it's 5,000 per year that you can take pre-tax. Not exactly helpful for us given that we spend that in 5 weeks. |
| $2,100 for one 2.5 year old in pre-school, Dupont Circle |
| $1400 - au pair for 2 5 year olds. (Average is about $350 per week when you add in insurance and fees.) |
| This is depressing |
Im the pp with 3 kids who spends 3900. I think its worth mentioning I know people who 3 kids who use home daycares a little further out and spend half what I pay. I don't think lower costs correlates to a lower standard of care either. There is childcare options among all budgets. |
