LAMB Lottery

Students did come in off the wait list for PK4 last year. Not sure how high up but they are in my son's class.

we are also top 5 for PK4, crossing fingers that there are a few spaces that open, but would siblings of accepted PK3 ers take precedence?

Why do some of the kids have birthdays after the cut off? Shouldn't the PK4 list stop at 9/30/2010?

I think you'll get in.

Does LAMB ever update the results posted online to reflect waitlist movement? Or do families just need to call periodically to find out where they are?

I emailed LAMB about this question yesterday, but haven't heard back yet.

Wanted to bump this and see if anyone knows the answer? Hoping the LAMB list will move after March 31st.

I only think that would happen if kids who got into LAMB also got into Oyster or Mundo Verde. That could also happen if said kid also got into Stokes and/or Yu Ying, which hold their own separate lotteries.

I'm the 12:02 poster. I checked again with LAMB. They basically said they'll update the WL online as needed, depending on how fast it moves.

Sadly, while she confirmed that they got to the low 100s on the PS3 waitlist last year, she said they also had more spaces available last year, and so they may not get as far down the WL this year.

Of course, I guess anything can happen with the unified lottery. But not holding my breath re: my child's # in the 140s.

Maybe maybe not... You are assuming that everyone who applies to LAMB is really excited about Spanish. The reality is many people apply because it's not in the common lottery and why not apply. For example, there could be IB Ross parents on that list...

I'm the one who bumped the thread - thanks for the info.

I wouldn't give up hope. I can definitely see how the new common lottery algorithm will greatly reduce waitlist movement for the schools in the common lottery. I do not see logically why it would reduce waitlist movement for the schools outside of the lottery. For the latter, many will apply with no real interest.

I called this morning for PS3, and they told me there has been no movement on the waitlist.

We got the same answer today too. It just seems like the chances of the waitlist moving this year are so slim! Maybe as all the schools' enrollment deadlines come up? And maybe LAMB's own deadline as well - anyone know when that is?
