Is this the thread where someone said "Come on people, stop having kids! All you need is 2, you don't need that 3rd... do what the Royal Family does: an heir and a spare. That's all you need."

No kidding?? So if I have twins, one is an academic superstar, the other a musician-wannabe weed-smoking slacker, and they both apply to Princeton and the academic superstar gets in, the musician gets in automatically? Even if he got a 400 on the SATs? (Not a diss to musicians by the way! My DH is brilliant and also a musician, so just posing a hypothetical...) |
Last year, for PS3, I invested so much wishful thinking into LAMB-my son was bilingual thanks to his daycare, we could walk 4 blocks to campus, etc. Imagine the cruel shock of getting #740 something on the WL. Although as my DH pointed out, once you're past 100 or whatever is going to move, it doesnt matter if you're 101 or 701. |
Wow - so it sounds like there has a been a significant decline in the number of apps (down by 200?) compared to last year? |
PP of the above here. I just checked my number for PK4. we have an excellent number. Gulp. Wow. Our kid is pretty happy at another charter (not immersion, not walking distance, not montessori) so I don't know what we would do if we got it. |
Glad you are happy where you are. At the open house, they said they expected zero PK4 spots.
|
| Is there somewhere that we can see how deep LAMB went into their waitlist last year? |
You can't see this for any school. People here said they went into the low 100s for PK3. |
I find it hard to believe there would be NO slots, unless there are open PK4 slots taken up by siblings of incoming PK3ers. |
No new spots--obviously there would be more spots if someone leaves, which seems less likely with DCI prospect. They said there would be zero spots in the initial lottery. |
| Thanks to the pp who posted that link (even though my WL number sucks) |
| We have a great number for PK4 (less than 10) ... Any chance of movement this year??? |
| ^^ Are you top 5? |
| 5:23 yes!!! So excited as we struck out last year at all Spanish immersion programs. Now there is a teeny bit of hope!! |
