Which "celebrities" have you met who look great/awful in person?

Oh! I'm 23:45 and I thought of another. Kate Pierson from the B-52s sat behind me at a concert once, and she looked awesome.

Amazing! So jealous of this one.

There were three of us interns in the main office when he came in. When he went in to his meeting, we hightailed it over to the interns' room to tell them who was here and there was a LOT of giggling. Later, one of the staffers told us that JFK Jr. had heard all the squealing and he thought it was funny. I was lucky to be in the front room when he came in and he made small talk and was so polite. he had to wait about 10 minutes for his meeting and he looked at the photos on the wall and chatted and he politely tried to pretend he did not notice that we were all agog over him.

I also went on a doubledate with Patrick Kennedy and another intern who he was keen on that same summer. He was very quiet and awkward and nothing at all like John, Jr. (I have told these two stories a lot so anyone who knows me IRL will know exactly who I am.)

I am the Ted intern...I have also seen Bill Clinton and Chelsea at a restaurant in Georgetown when he was president. chelsea went to use the bathroom so my friend and I also went in there. She was young - only maybe 16, but very very tall and self assured. Hillary was not with them. This was in 1996 or so.

I have also been at restaurants with Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter. The Carters were in Anchorage and seemed warm and approachable. It was just them and maybe one secuirty guard nearby. Scalia was also in Alaska - speaking at a bar convention in FBX. I sat a table away from him at the conference hotel for breakfast and he ate alone and seemed a little stand offish. His secuirty detail did not eat at the same table.

PP - I also was on a airplane from DC to AK with Justice Roberts.

I had lunch with Kitty Dukakis during the 1988 campaign. I was at a table with about 12 other campaigners. she was nice but odd.

I have met Dukakis himself a few times. Very personable. He remembers names.

I think if you have worked on Capitol Hill or on Presidential campaigns, you have prob. met a LOT of folks. It is fun but they are regular people after all.

oh, and forgot.... Sylvester Stallone... very short, maybe 5'7" as noted above. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer would be kind ...

No, he's not the brightest. I used to see him from time to time when I was a kid. For whatever reason he would come to my little town to get his hair cut by this old Italian barber.

Anonymous wrote:Vanessa Williams looks horrible in person. She has huge craters all over her face, covered with heavy makeup. And she has no eyebrows. So disappointing, I've always thought she was so pretty.

When she was young she was flawless and jaw dropping gorgeous. She's at least 50 now, so maybe time took it's toll.

It's hard to take the tea party seriously. They can dress in tricorn hats and wave the Gadsden flag but their leaders routinely flub basic constitutional questions.

Time to put down the drink. I think you stumbled into the wrong thread.

I've always heard that he is quite intelligent even though his voice and manner of speaking makes him sound dumb. I know someone who used to see Harrison Ford on occasion and said he was nice enough but didn't seem very bright.

Paula Deen - looked just like on TV, super nice, funny

Jay Leno - just like on TV

Colin Farrell- looke like a bum, badly dressed, stringy hair, unshaven. Short - about 5'7''; still handsome.

Diane Lane--stunning with just a little bit of makeup. Quite thin but she looks perfectly curvy in photos. Nice and down-to-earth and a devoted mom.

Harrison Ford and Dennis Quaid--trim with great voices but showing their age.

Brad Pitt--bad skin and full of himself.

The late Dudley Moore--looked exactly how he did in the movies. Friendly, warm and hilarious.

David Copperfield--looks the same except not as well-groomed, creepy, arrogant.

Tom Hanks--tall, handsome, soooo nice.

Marla Maples--petite and very pretty.

Arnold Schwarzenegger--shorter and smaller than you'd expect.

Heidi Klum and Seal at Nobu Next Door in NYC shortly after her first child was born. She was beautiful but definitely not a waif. She had larger hips and thighs than I would've expectd, but she also just had a baby. Seal carried the baby into the restaurant in a Moses basket.
