This is definitely a time when the dudes' way of communicating is superior!

9:53 - ITA. Certain kinds of people deserve zero explanation. Done.

I agree. Not your kid, not your responsibility.

I'm just stunned that a parent would even make a request like that. At those ages the entire family should be able to make ONE room work for them if they have to. Two rooms are a luxury....and they aren't even paying rent. Wow.

Maybe they were hoping to trick the OP into agreeing to share with the 4 year old and then switch it to the 2 year old (who still gets up a night).....single sib winds up on baby duty all week while the couple enjoys hot romance all week. Yep.

OP should have just said, "Alright, I'll compromise. Since you have a family and I'm single, I'll only take one room and you can have 2 rooms. I don't mind doing this to keep peace and I'll sacrifice an extra room so you can have 2 for this vacation. you're welcome."

It's a shame when family members try to pull manipulative stunts like this. I hope you said "NO!!", OP.

Post an update and let us know how it went.

The 2 year old can share a room. Tell your sister to fuck off and let yourself have your own room. Your an adult not a child.

I need an update. Come back, OP!

Ditto. We are ALL looking for tips on how to "enjoy", or at least do a good job pretending to enjoy, "vacation" with the ILs, OP! Help us!

I thought this was funny.

Agreed. Very clever.

Let me guess OP. Your piece of shit sister never lifts a finger to cook either? Would that be correct?

And she leaves the beach house early for a "commitment" so everyone else can pick up after her slob ass? Ew. She is known to disappear at night so everyone else can clean up and listen to her loud kids keep the young ones up late (god forbid this happened when HER kids were young!) She takes off with her husband regularly so everyone else has to deal with her kids, yet never once offered to watch yours? She crowds you out of the family beach tent and feigns ignorance? She takes walks with "select" people in the family two seconds after you asked "who wants to go for a walk?" She has her nose in a book all week and resists all attempts for you to "play nice"? No thanks, I'll stay home!
