| Doubtful you will get in even if you had a number in the single digits for preK considering all the spots went to sibs. Probably best to forget about it and move on. |
| Maybe the numbers got submitted in batches by the computer? |
You must be a hater desperate for a spot. This is not the first time there were only enough slots for sibs. Historically, the WL moves at least through the first 10. Anyone else care to chime in with their experience? |
|
Historically there were many new charters and existing charters adding classes and expanding. Not this year, the only new charter is Sela and Cap City, MV, YY, etc are not expanding or adding classes. So you cannot compare this yr to what it was in the past 2-3 yrs.
You sound like a complete idiot... |
What time did you submit? I submitted around 12:40 and have a number in the 40s which won't get me anything. |
| Could any early submitters chime in. I think I got robbed. I submitted at around 12:15 I think. |
| Don't forget DCI. Once in at Stokes, parents never have to do the lottery again. Incentive enough for current parents to not leave. |
| Unfortunately I don't think it's fishy - when the site went live after its noon crash, I think there was an avalanche of applications. The Stokes FB page was electric with people waiting to get their applications in! |
Depends on the year. You would have factor in the POP years for MV and YY and the new charters. Those years allowed more PreS/PreK slots available across the city. |
Well then how could someone who submitted after me have a WL number lower than mine? Does anyone know what Stokes did to make sure that things were numbered truly in order received in light of the crash? |
How do you know this? Did you see the other person's electronic timestamp? |
| No. Somebody posted on here a timestamp 20 minutes after mine, but a WL number 20 ahead of mine. |
|
"timestamp" means nothing - as I posted before the waitlist came out. When you "submitted" your application is not a timestamp. The only "stamp" that matters is when infosnap sends the application through their bridge to Stokes.
That number is what counts. Not when you submitted your application, not when infosnap received it, not when you called stokes, not when Santa came from the North Pole. The second on the computer when Infosnap sends to Stokes. WHICH YOU HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING! Signed, Technical grant staff person who deals with annoying people like you EVERYDAY (except fighting about million dollar grant proposals) |
That doesn't mean they told the truth. |
| I called the school and they said the "timestamp" did matter. They're investigating what happened right now. Also, some other posts said they might have received "batches" of applications that screwed up the timestamps. According to the school, that didn't happen. They know exactly when, in order, who submitted when. I feel sorry for your clients "technical grant staff person", but with a title like that, which you gave yourself, you're better called "pea brain grant wannabe"! |
